Monkey parliament print found in loft, by claireb88 on May 5, 2021 20:43:54 GMT 1, Hi,
I found the monkey parliament print I bought in 2009 at the Bristol exhibition and I was going to get rid of it but didn't realise the value. Unfortunately, I don't have the receipt. I did have photos of me at the exhibition but I can't find them either. However, it is in its original tube. Is this enough proof that it is genuine?
If it is do I keep it or sell it? 🤷
Any help would be much appreciated.

You don't see many of these for sale with receipts, so having the tube is good provenance. They seem to be selling for between £5k-£6k. Whether you sell is your choice.

If you decide to sell it, take some good pictures and put it in the Banksy for sale forum on here.

Who knows! I thought they were expensive when they were selling a few years ago for £1500+ then they peaked at over £7k. If you could do with the cash then sell now and have no regrets.

Tough question-- I wish my stockbroker had that kind of certainty too!
I tend to think of prints and art as a fun thing to collect and display that can also have a chance of appreciating in value, but it's a crapshoot. If I found a Monkey Parliament in my attic I would frame it and keep the tube for in the future if I ever want to sell, being comfortable with the risk that the market for Banksy could go down. Kind of a personal question of valuing certain money "cash in hand" now vs. value of having some cool art by a popular artist on your wall.

Funny MS quote, but I have to say they are not low quality in the flesh ,

My personal opinion is that you should sell. The market goes down since a while now and I highly doubt it will recover under the circumstances. I see a lot of people in this forum trying to sell prints and can't get rid off them at the moment.

You're a bit paranoid I think, I'm not talking about Mason,I'm talking about Banksys market that actually dropped 7 % in May.

If you don't need to sell it, hold on to it. Literally everything "Banksy" will increase in value over the coming years. His next project will have international media falling over themselves to cover it. Your poster will more than hold its value.

Love how everyone misidentifying my gender here.
Go back and pick on someone else, you seem to be bitter and you live in a bubble. Numbers don't lie.

You took umbrage at the “he” but were fine with the “bitter”. I assumed you were male too - most of the single-issue bores on here are male.
Well wrong assumption then.
Claire asked if her print will raise in value, I stated the market dropped and a lot of people here are trying to sell with no success. Both statements are facts, so there's absolutely no bitterness going on.

And anyway, bitter lies in the eye of the beholder. My gender doesn't, I'm afraid.

Monkey parliament print found in loft, by jeezuzjonessnr on Jun 5, 2021 22:34:21 GMT 1, A lot of unauthorised pieces and tat are selling for less as there are so many fakes out there. Hard to sell online without people seeing it.
Was thinking do you live in Bristol or London? Maybe walk into a gallery, once they see the original tube and quality they may take it off your hands for less as they need to make a profit.
Email a few first to see what they would offer.
Good luck 👍

Bullsh*t, never had another name on this forum, admin can check the ip and compare, I don't care, they'll see its not me.
It's amazing how people here are quick in judging, every account that has a different opinion than the main opinion is the same person, you guys don't even take in consideration that there are more people with one opinion. Now I've been accused of being around 3 different persons - and all that accusations have been wrong. Especially you seem to like to do accusations without a single proof, but you're dismissive if someone actually brings something up with evidence (for example the shredder fraud, the dropping market of Banksy etc).
By the way, the "voiceofreason", registered only to defend Banksy in the shredder thread, deleted its account. Interesting, huh?

Apologies op for derailing your thread...
Winchester my feeling is that you misjudge "voiceofreason" and his intentions were good. I mean take a second look at his very first post in the shredder thread. We all need from time to time to take a step back and listen to the voice of reason (both in general and particularly in the aforementioned thread)...although he/she/they seem to be gone like many other old members who were knowledgeable and had interesting things to say.

I am agree with you, and I did not thought any moment about this eventuality ( that he delelted himself his account - I thought that he had been banned) .. Yes? he had good judments and, once upon a time, he spoke about art and not only about money etc..
Byt the way, I find all these double triple fake accounts ( not voiceofreason )really boring : it's exponential with the time, and mods don't Ip etc...
I helped one here - I have only mine, everywhere - to create an account coz he was banned - he never thanked me, lol, merci la solidarité française - , it's easy to register with your phone/operator - no wifi, no Ip etc )...

Monkey parliament print found in loft, by jimmyjam on Jun 6, 2021 18:31:56 GMT 1, Ah, of course, apologies, but yes, I was unsure but makes sense, you registered under another name for a while during the JPS "Girl With Balloon" tantrum. The problem is - it’s pretty clear some people do have multiple accounts just trying to mess with people and releases.
I’m not saying you are one of them.
