I am late, very late.. just got the info with a month delay, still processing this terrible news. 
He has been my favorite street artist and will remain as the best artist on my walls, even next to an original Banksy...

All the surrounding artists should drop to their knees and show eternal respect for Bäst.

Apparently no one knows what happened, he was so young and so talented I can't believe it.. Almost cried today when I got the news.. wtf... WHAT HAPPENED ?

I never managed to meet him as most of us, and it will always be a massive regret to not have been able to meet him in his studio and discuss his amazing art, but maybe we will meet another time in another world !

All my thoughts and prayers are going towards him, his family and beloved ones

To the UAA team, if you could please add Bäst to the main artists in the horizontal bar / menu next to / before Damien Hurst, I believe that it is the least to do.
Personally I have mainly participated to this forum due to my interest for Bäst so why not seeing him there..
He would appreciate it ..

I second the motion!  Way before Hirst please.  Like a million lifetimes before Hirst would be great.

FYI I made a memorial post on my insta which is arthurobambino .. Will do more notably with galleries I know that could back up his works in Brussels, Paris notably ..

My two cents... Never been in NY in the past 20 years, but I have been passionately following his work together with RAEs.... I believe no one better than him has been able to transfer the urban breath of the Big Apple into art. RIP Michael, the world will miss you.

Really awesome. Back when artists actually put the work in to create intricate art like these. And to keep it raw looking as well. 

Can't say the same for most "famous" urban artists today. Or maybe that's just the trend today - copying other artists, getting by with meaningless doodles or quick slipshod one-liner jokes, followed by quick production output to tap into the savings of everybody who chalked up savings from not vacationing the last 1 year.

His works are selling like hotcakes.  The new site had some limited pieces for sale and they were all sold. Anyone here buying?   also noticed A LOT of new artists are totally copying off him
