TateWard β’ Art Auctions π¬π§, by daniel3886 on May 21, 2019 9:16:55 GMT 1, After a strong start in April setting multiple world records for works, we are now accepting consignments for our next sale on July 2nd. The consignment deadline is 3rd of June so please contact me on Danny@tateward.com to discuss selling works from your collection.
Emails should include pictures where possible and the following information:
Artist Title Year Medium Dimensions (Inc Frame if applicable)
We can be flexible on sellers terms for larger sized/High value consignments and will do our best to help with logistics where possible.
Our lot minimum for this and sales going forward is going to be Β£500. Work below this level will only be accepted if deemed to have a strong enough market or be part of a larger consignment. The aim of this is to improve the quality of the sales which we see to the benefit of sellers and buyers.
Due to our first location at the Truman Brewery being unavailable for this sale we will be moving to:
New Inn Yard, Shoreditch, London, EC2A 3AY Sale Date: Tuesday, 2nd July 2019 15:00 start Viewing Fri 28th June - 2nd July VIP Preview 1st July
Septemberβs and Decemberβs sales will return to The Truman Brewery. We have been paying consigners early once lots have been paid and collected as we feel returning sale proceeds as quick as possible is what our clients want. We will continue to do this moving forward.

TateWard β’ Art Auctions π¬π§, by daniel3886 on Jun 10, 2019 23:16:47 GMT 1, We are right on our deadline for the July sale. If you have a work valued at Β£5000 or over weβll do our upmost to get it into this sale.
We will also pay consigners as soon as we have been paid ourselves. We do not believe in holding consigners money for 30 days.
We have a strong selection of work and look forward to showing it from the 28th June at Protein Studios, New Inn Yard, Shoreditch E1
Mail Nick@tateward.com and Danny@tateward.com for a swift valuation of work.

I've always wanted a HF Dale Marshall print, so there's that. Some nice Dran, Miller, Richter and other odds and ends.

TateWard β’ Art Auctions π¬π§, by kuni on Jun 21, 2019 14:00:07 GMT 1, I'm considering a few bids on some pieces in this auction...
Is there anyway to get an estimate on shipping to the US? For some of the pieces I'm interested in, it could add a considerable amount to the cost. Hoping to get a handle on what I'm looking at prior to making a bid.

Anything of a value I do use FL though..

TateWard β’ Art Auctions π¬π§, by kuni on Jun 21, 2019 14:49:34 GMT 1, Thanks for the tips. The pieces are fairly large but not relatively high priced (~$1-1.5k). I hadn't thought of mailboxes etc, but I'll look into it. Backing up though - admittedly this is would be my first time seriously going after a piece at auction. If I win, is it then on me to arrange all of the freight however I see fit? And just coordinate with the auction house when I've lined it all up? I was thinking that the auction house would sort all of that out and then send me the tab.

Some auction platforms give a Mailbox quote for each lot number. And some expect you to do all the organising yourself; or make a journey to pick it up yourself. You need to check the small print for any auction you plan to bid with.

TateWard β’ Art Auctions π¬π§, by Graham H on Jun 21, 2019 15:25:04 GMT 1, It does surprise me that ALL Auction Houses dont offer this service as a win - win.. good money to be made for the auction house, and an easy, trouble free service for customers.. which im sure would lead to more potential buyers turning into definite bidders
Mailboxes arranged everything for me.. it was released to them by the auction house on my say so.. and they collected and did the rest
Pretty simple

The idea that I'm going to have to spend a bunch of time sorting out the logistics of getting the piece to the states is potentially enough to make me think twice about bidding.
I checked out the fine print on Tate's site and it's pretty vague. Basically, get your piece out of here within 14 days or we charge you storage. The rest is on you. Fair enough, and if I could collect the piece in person that wouldn't be a problem, but finding the time to arrange freight can be a challenge for anyone working a full time job. Maybe I'm blowing this out of proportion and making it a bigger deal than it is (totally possible) but my enthusiasm around bidding is somewhat tempered by the shipping situation.
Going to contact mailboxes though and see if that's an easy solution for international shipping.

+1
Auction houses are awful at shipping, and most of them will quote extortionate prices...
There is really something screaming to be solved here

TateWard β’ Art Auctions π¬π§, by daniel3886 on Jun 21, 2019 20:20:10 GMT 1, It does surprise me that ALL Auction Houses dont offer this service as a win - win.. good money to be made for the auction house, and an easy, trouble free service for customers.. which im sure would lead to more potential buyers turning into definite bidders Mailboxes arranged everything for me.. it was released to them by the auction house on my say so.. and they collected and did the rest Pretty simple Could not agree more.Β The idea that I'm going to have to spend a bunch of time sorting out the logistics of getting the piece to the states is potentially enough to make me think twice about bidding.Β I checked out the fine print on Tate's site and it's pretty vague.Β Basically, get your piece out of here within 14 days or we charge you storage.Β The rest is on you.Β Fair enough, and if I could collect the piece in person that wouldn't be a problem, but finding the time to arrange freight can be a challenge for anyone working a full time job.Β Maybe I'm blowing this out of proportion and making it a bigger deal than it is (totally possible) but my enthusiasm around bidding is somewhat tempered by the shipping situation.Β Β Going to contact mailboxes though and see if that's an easy solution for international shipping.Β Β
I will be happy to help co ordinate quotes from our preferred shippers flight logistics and JGM shipping. We had previously recommended Cadogan Tate but while their art handling and storage are second to none they are expensive for shipping and packing (we have asked them to address this).
To clarify our view on shipping, we believe our customers should be free to use whoever they wish. We do not mark up the quotes from our recommended partners you will always be paying the actual cost of packing and shipping. I think this sets us apart from much of our competitors who see it as another revenue stream and an opportunity to profit further after a sale.
We will be happy to help with dimensions and quotes, just get in touch with Harry or myself. Harry@tateward.com danny@tateward.com
