Kaws what party (signed edition) book, by irl1 on Feb 26, 2021 18:02:54 GMT 1, It's even $85 shipping just for one T-Shirt. Also... I noticed on eBay, the 2 nicer posters come very tightly rolled and look a bit rubbish in reality!! But the 2 photo posters come flat packed, like the NGV ones. Yeah fuck them, I was going to get a few bits for my girls but not paying that shipping

Kaws what party (signed edition) book, by jimmyjam on Feb 26, 2021 18:14:44 GMT 1, Brooklyn mentioned to me they are selling limited amounts of the new toy everyday at the museum. But again from my experience they are really hard to get. You need to get the earliest time slot and just go straight for the shop.
This show is going on until September possibly longer. I wouldn't be surprised if they keep making the toys for the show and also KAWS releases more on his site. It didn't say limited or anything at the museum. I'm guessing its open edition again.
The posters are fantastic but massive. I mean huge. Hard to store and expensive to frame. But they are really nice in person. Shipping for them has to be expensive considering how big they are.
The signed books are the only really limited item from this show.

Kaws what party (signed edition) book, by jimmyjam on Feb 26, 2021 18:21:44 GMT 1, The white version - as of now wasn't not available or offered at the museum shop pre-order list. The other colors are but not the white/signed one.
It seems they made the white version a 500 edition book that is signed. The other colors are not as limited as the museum and various stores like MOMA are offering them.
He might just randomly sign the other ones for the store. It's nice having the white one considering it seems it's the official signed edition version of the book.

Kaws what party (signed edition) book, by cjwhitey on Feb 26, 2021 19:33:34 GMT 1, I am in the NY area and just got tickets to attend the exhibition on Saturday, March 27th. If any forum members would like me to try and purchase items for them, please shoot me a DM. I don't know what will be available, if anything at all, but I will try.
Also, wish I had thought to look at the Phaidon and/or MoMA Design Store websites before I just dropped $36 on shipping for a poster and book on the Brooklyn Museum website, but I guess I am supporting local, huh?!

Do you think you need tickets to visit the shop? If you’re local enough it might be worth taking a look sooner. (And I’ll take a black What Party toy please! )

Do you think you need tickets to visit the shop? If you’re local enough it might be worth taking a look sooner. (And I’ll take a black What Party toy please! ) I went to the members preview yesterday. It was a total shit show. I had the earliest time slot (11am) The resellers ran straight to the gift shop(thats on the 5th floor, at the end of the exhibit, so yes, you have to have a ticket to get into the Kaws giftshop) It was announced before entry that if you went in the gift shop, you could not return into the show, so the resellers obviously had no interest in the actual art. I walked through the show, took photos, soaked it all in and got to the gift shop line around 11:35.
They were limiting how many people could be in the shop at a time, so I was in line for at least 45 minutes before I even got in the shop. I was in the early batch of people, by the time I was at the front of the line, the gift shop line wait must have been 2 hours +.
There was no social distancing, it was pretty poorly planned. By the time I got in the shop, most of the vinyl toys had been sold(I was able to grab a couple, one blush companion from 2016 and the what party chum from 2020)
They had some of last years charity prints on display, but they weren't going to be available till this morning and they only had twenty of each(Garfield and Snoopy) for 1200.00 each. Ridiculous that they were available for the general public opening today, but none for museum members. Oh well.
If you're going to the show and aren't in the first batch of people, be prepared to wait a long time in line for the gift shop.
For some reason, my membership got me a 20% off discount for everything I bought, its supposed to just be 10, so not sure if that was a preview perk or what, but it was appreciated.
Hope this long ass post helps someone.

Hope this long ass post helps someone. I have been told that no signed book was available yesterday. The store and managers even said they didn't think there were any available. Then today it was in the online store... I am VERY happy I secured one through the members here of the forum but yeah, I'd say it's pretty hectic there I was lucky to score a signed book online today. I got an email from the museum saying the store would go live at 11 today and for once, I was able to actually get something. I grabbed one of the Separated figures today, as they were sold out in store yesterday(for preorder) by the the time I got the the register.
I feel for the gift shop and museum staff, they're gonna have their hands full through this whole show run. Maybe they will make some changes on how to deal with the lines/demand, etc.
I purchased a museum membership last year ahead of this show, in case there would be access to a print or something like that. So far, I haven't been impressed with the way this has all rolled out, but in fairness, we're in the middle of a pandemic, so I cant be too harsh on anyone.
For all my UK and Europe friends, I'm sorry to hear shipping is so expensive.

They look shockingly bad quality - like wrapping paper.
