Kaws what party (signed edition) book, by 0shima on Mar 5, 2021 18:26:14 GMT 1, I just received this from Phaidon.... it doesn't really add anything but thought I'd share We are reaching out to you because you have contacted us regarding your order for KAWS: WHAT A PARTY (Signed White Edition) which has since been refunded to you. We understand your disappointment at the cancellation of your order due to the fact that we received more orders than the supply we had. We did our best to honor the first orders received as well as to limit quantities per order. May I remind you that our website Conditions of Use (www.phaidon.com/conditions-of-use/) states that βall orders are subject to availability, and Phaidon cannot guarantee the availability of any specific products.β It further states that βNo contract will subsist between you and Phaidon for the sale by it to you of any product unless and until Phaidon actually dispatches the good to you. At any point up until then, we may decline to supply the goods to you without giving any reason.β While we were within our rights to cancel your order, we apologize that it was necessary for us to take this step on this occasion. You may be aware that copies of the Signed Edition were also available from Brooklyn Museum. There was a period of roughly two days during which Phaidon.com was the only place one could purchase a Signed Edition, following which copies could also be purchased from Brooklyn Museum. Both Phaidon and Brooklyn Museum are now fully sold out. May I also remind you that unsigned editions β black, pink, orange, and yellow colors -- are currently available for sale on Phaidon.com. We hope that this clarifies matters and we appreciate your interest. Same here got the same mail.... copy and paste to every customer.
What it makes me laughing is this: "May I also remind you that unsigned editions β black, pink, orange, and yellow colors -- are currently available for sale on Phaidon.com."
Business is business...

Kaws what party (signed edition) book, by Coach on Mar 5, 2021 18:44:36 GMT 1, I understand all the disappointment expressed here. That said, Iβve spent a small fortune at Phaidon over the years. Their books are invariably superb and Iβve never had any problem with them. It seems to me that an inventory mistake was made. Who knows whether that was at Phaidon or further up the supply chain. To err is human. These things happen. And as for their T&Cβs suggesting you shouldnβt buy from them, I doubt that any other large online book retailer says anything different.

Kaws what party (signed edition) book, by mabage on Mar 5, 2021 18:48:00 GMT 1, Your right that errors can happen. But it wasn`t my fault and absolutely foreseeable that more people want to buy the book. Out of stock is in my opinion different than canceling an order a week later. At least they could offer a voucher like 5 % for the next order.

Probably not their fault but why didn't them offer any discount but remind you to buy some books that available on amazon, brooklyn museum or some other website online...
For sure it was cause by this... "You may be aware that copies of the Signed Edition were also available from Brooklyn Museum. I know someone had his order on 53XX and still OK... but why some people on 52XX have their order cancel?
This is why I'm still doesn't understand this ... "We did our best to honor the first orders received as well as to limit quantities per order."

Twice now you have said itβs not your fault. No one has said it was (including Phaidon). Reminding you of their T&Cβs is not saying it was your fault.
Are we not all yet used to the disappointment of not being able to buy something that is a limited edition? Things being oversold is something that happens. Itβs the nature of our collecting. Something else will be on the horizon that we want just as much if not more. Whilst disappointing, itβs not worth all this discombobulation imo.

You didn't state your order number, so my reply was not directed at you. I was just trying to explain why some later orders might still stand over others purchased before.

I suppose only Phaidon have the real answer. I'm gutted for all of you, especially after a week, but as coach said, we all suffer the disappointment of cancellations at some point. Take it on the chin, forget it and move on.

Kaws what party (signed edition) book, by Inknart on Mar 5, 2021 21:21:32 GMT 1, People will fomo right now but come shippments there will be plenty more kaws boos and everyone will have forgotten the hype. Iβd be very happy if those prices would stay that high I think these are really nice, looks like a great book quality wise for $49 signed with no dedication. Even though I have a few things dedicated, it's nice to see a limited run of 500 for a book edition with his signature. I'm not sure he's done this outside of the old small black book, which is super old with the running chum. Could be wrong.

Kaws what party (signed edition) book, by flatcolor on Mar 6, 2021 6:34:29 GMT 1, I just received this from Phaidon.... it doesn't really add anything but thought I'd share We are reaching out to you because you have contacted us regarding your order for KAWS: WHAT A PARTY (Signed White Edition) which has since been refunded to you. They could have saved a lot of effort with just the words "Go F#ck yourself!"

Pretty much the same process as this book. I still have mine. And because I signed up for the book I got the first notice of availability for the first Spongebob print, which I bought for $800. Still have that also.

Kaws what party (signed edition) book, by We Have Your Prints on Mar 6, 2021 17:36:58 GMT 1, I just received this from Phaidon.... it doesn't really add anything but thought I'd share We are reaching out to you because you have contacted us regarding your order for KAWS: WHAT A PARTY (Signed White Edition) which has since been refunded to you. Same here. No comment. Surely I can be proved wrong but I think it is difficult to sell more than the stock assigned on shopify. There is a tick box on shopify to continue selling when stock reaches zero
