CONTEST:Guess when Banksy Will create a Digital NFT ARTWORK , by GMA on Mar 5, 2021 12:18:05 GMT 1, If you're going to do a video of yourself burning something at least douse it in petrol or something. What a slow boring video. I just don't get it, burning this print and "transferring" it to the NFT network, wtf?!? Give me a physical asset I can feel and touch over something in a blockchain. Analogue > Digital > Analogue. There is a rise in popularity for items that clunk, buttons you push, the weeeiirrinnng sound of a disc moving, I expect this is just a small group of people, with what I'd say is more money than sense. I could be absolutely wrong, of course, but I certainly hope not. The idea is to "transfer" the wealth into the blockchain I'm still not sure why you would do that though. What are the benefits of doing that? Genuine question. I could kind of understand if, for example, we were all hooked up to VR headsets and meeting in a VR world to live our lives, and then you could view these "assets" in someone's home. What is the long-term goal of it all?

It is an increase in the trust of blockchain technology against the normal currencies and banks. The decentralized system of the blockchain ,the part that it cannot be faked,it's limited, etc...is more and more embraced by more and more people.

Ok, now I get it, it's to support the cause of bringing down the banks and monetary system. I watched a doc a long time ago called Money as Debt and it explained all of this.
I'm on board with that BUT... I think transferring physical assets, like the Banksy print, onto the blockchain isn't the answer, but I can see how the more items you can purchase in crypto would increase trust.
Interesting times ahead no doubt and thanks for taking the time to bring me up to speed.

But I agree with you...burning a physical print ,so you can have it in the blockchain, it's just crazy(stupid) . Time will tell if he was a pioneer in this or it was just a failed experiment. I guess if you want to transfer your money to the blockchain it's easy, you buy crypto...but to transfer the artworks ,without selling them, a bit more difficult (and without burning them )

Either way, the discussion reminded me to set up a Wirex account, which I've now done and purchased some XRP I'll just add to it as time goes on.

CONTEST:Guess when Banksy Will create a Digital NFT ARTWORK , by blurp on Mar 5, 2021 14:29:01 GMT 1, Never its a stupid f-uking idea and their energy consumption is off the charts. Stop this stupid fad.
Digital  Collectibles are hot right now and will only get  hotter. Banksy is hot right now  and  only  getting... well  you can fill in the blank. It is no secret that Banksy Creates  sketches and  mock ups for  some  of  his  pcs.  Some of them on paper and others  on his  ipad with procreate. does anyone want to  to guess when he will release a his first digital only release for sale? here is  some background  on NFT's en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-fungible_tokenRarible is the first community-owned NFT marketplace rarible.comcontest rules.  you guess the  date  (within 1 day plus or  minus) of his  digital  only release for sale or auction. the  prize* =  1  Unopened  Package  from POW  dated 2017  , the contents  of the package are unknown as they were ordered during a high state of intoxication. Maybe  its postcards, maybe books, a shirt  , banksy DNA?   ( I will cover shipping). the  package could be worthless, or  it  could be priceless. I make no guarantees. but do you have anything to  lose? the contest will be  open for submittals from now until  12/31/20 at 11:59 pm  UTC (universal time) We will find out the winner  after / if banksy  decides to release his NFT. * In the event that the  package is  "lost" in the  time  from now until the release ( could be  forever). I will send the winner $50.00. But hey, I have managed to keep it since 2017 so theres a good chance i will have it for a few more years. Good  luck to  all, but especially to those  Giving a shit and helping  the less fortunate during this  most difficult year.

CONTEST:Guess when Banksy Will create a Digital NFT ARTWORK , by Runit on Mar 6, 2021 20:26:16 GMT 1, Considering the potential disastrous environmental effect of NFT's & the very suspect artificial inflation by a few rich oligarchs/consortiums - not to mention Banksy's focus on the real, material & environment - I would imagine Banksy would either stay away entirely or create one single NFT that will work to lampoon/comment on the very compromised virtual space it will inhabit. It is prime for the latter and would be very interesting to see just what he thinks about such a space, 'movement' and virtual location In a nutshell. This.
