Adam Pendleton 🇺🇸 New Print Release • Exhibition News

Adam Pendleton will have a new show in mumok, Vienna:

"In 2023, mumok will present New York artist Adam Pendleton’s first comprehensive solo exhibition in Europe. Pendleton’s painting is a continuous index in which gestures are recorded, transposed, and overwritten. Since 2008 he has articulated much of his work through the idea of Black Dada, an ever-evolving inquiry into the relationship between Blackness, abstraction, and the avant-garde. In his paintings, drawings, and other works, a visual philosophy of incomplete postulates emerges, flattening the distinctions between legibility and abstraction, past and present, familiar and strange."

With a beautiful poster, designed by David Wise.

After a 9 months wait I finally went to see Adam Pendleton’s show at Mumok today. A dazzling, fantastic exhibition! I recommend every fan to go here :-) Very happy and lucky that I had the chance to visit this one.

I am a very big fan of his work and did visit his show in Vienna last fall. I immediately bought one. 950 USD for a handpainted Pendleton is a no-brainer for me :-)

No. He cut 40 different stencils (as large as the cover of the catalogues, approx. 9x13 inch) and spraypainted 40 new covers.

The small print lies on top of the book cover. As far as I know (I saw a few small clips of the books being produced) the small print isn’t attached/glued to the spraypainted cover.

NO. That is an image on ALL books. Hand painted are the spraypainted shapes.
