Nuno Viegas π΅πΉ Street Art β’ Graffiti β’ Print Release , by mrizzle on Apr 12, 2021 15:37:27 GMT 1, Well...very annoyingly, all of that made no difference at all and FedEx are requesting a payment of Β£80.15. I calculate that the total bill should be Β£28.47. Frustratingly, as far as I know, you cannot appeal the charge directly as it wasnβt delivered by RM/Parcelforce.
Having looked at the declaration acceptance included, the tariff code 4911990000 (https://www.trade-tariff.service.gov.uk/commodities/4911990000) has been applied. This appears to be a generic code for goods and applies a 20% duty. This has been done despite the paperwork clearly stating βScreen Printed Artβ and the tariff code 9702... being attached to the paperwork provided by Underdogs. All quite annoying and it does certainly make things considerably more expensive. Purchases outside of the U.K. will certainly be a bit more considered from my end.
What a disappointing conclusion.
*Edit - Iβve now spoken to them and it is now in dispute. The call handling agent I spoke to has also conceded that the wrong code has been applied and is requesting an investigation into why the code provided by the gallery wasnβt used in the declaration acceptance. 5 days to see wait for the outcome of all of this caper. If youβre in the same boat though then Iβd encourage you to appeal.

I will def kick up a fuss out of principle, but what is the full number as Iβve rooted through it all and canβt find that code? Cheers for all your efforts

Thanks

Nuno Viegas π΅πΉ Street Art β’ Graffiti β’ Print Release , by Argiebaji on Apr 24, 2021 9:21:09 GMT 1, I have a case number and am waiting to hear back via email. I'll keep you posted as and when I hear back.
I have also emailed Underdogs twice asking them to put the HS code for Prints clearly on their tubes, however I haven't heard back from them either. It maybe worth lots of us doing this with Underdogs and other EU and USA galleries?

Currently Iβm still in dispute and Iβve yet to hear anything further since my last related post. As they generated their own code and completely ignored the one provided by me/Underdogs, I really cannot see how they can argue that theyβre in the wrong. Iβll update as and when I hear anything further. Itβs been in dispute for 12 days now and I was expecting to hear something around Thursday/Friday (past) but, as I say, nothing yet. I know itβs frustrating but hang on in there on the phone, they will pick up the call eventually. I generally leave it on speakerphone and carry on with something else while I wait.

Nuno Viegas π΅πΉ Street Art β’ Graffiti β’ Print Release , by Papa Rocks 64 on Apr 27, 2021 9:57:58 GMT 1, I was busy getting my beautiful baby daughter (born yesterday) home and forgot all about this one. Not even bothered this time around because Iβve got something even better sitting happily dozing in my arms. Well done to anyone that picked one up, I think itβs a cracker. Nothing will ever compare, what you're holding, genuinely priceless. Enjoy every second, God bless.

Nuno Viegas π΅πΉ Street Art β’ Graffiti β’ Print Release , by mrizzle on Apr 28, 2021 19:21:19 GMT 1, hi there can I ask did you get anywhere with FedEx in terms of them agreeing to reduce the charge because I have literally been holding two times a day (20 mins each time) every day this week and just canβt get through to anyone - what a shambles of a company, to deal with! Received the following today from FedEx and Iβm quite annoyed by it. By the time I pay any imposed charge of Β£53 (plus VAT), Iβll be little better off if the claim is approved or paying 2/3rds again on top of the initial amount. Really cannot see the justification in the charge and am now tempted just to tell them not to bother proceeding and pay the initial figure despite the error. Quite irritated by the whole affair.
β Please be advised that your query has been passed to the FedEx Brokerage Administration Services Department (BAS) to try and liaise with H M Revenue and Customs (HMRC) on a claim/amendment. Please note it may take up to 12 weeks to submit the claim/amendment to Customs and should they require anything further they may contact you directly. Please be advised that we are unable to guarantee that HMRC will accept the claim/amendment.
As per H M Revenue and Customs no amendments will be accepted for VAT if it can be reclaimed by the recipient/importer through their VAT returns. Therefore if you are VAT registered the VAT will remain payable in full.
Please be aware that claims/amendments for non-FedEx caused clearance errors may incur an administration fee of 53.00 GBP + VAT (UK only) per shipment. The amendment fee will remain payable even if HMRC reject the claim/amendment.
If you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Best Regardsβ

Nuno Viegas π΅πΉ Street Art β’ Graffiti β’ Print Release , by mrizzle on Jul 13, 2021 11:49:48 GMT 1, It has taken three and a half months (and I wonβt bore you with the litany of issues Iβve had in dealing with FedEx on this one - including them sending a threatening final notice letter which should never have been issued because it was in dispute at the time) but I finally have confirmation that this has now been resolved and the correct amount (that should have been charged in the first instance) has been applied. All quite frustrating but Iβd rather that Β£51 error was in my bank account than theirs.
β Hi ******,
I have received confirmation from Customs that they have accepted the claim that was made on the above referenced import. I trust this matter is now resolved to your satisfaction and I look forward to receiving the outstanding Β£17.03 VAT and Β£12.00 disbursement fee totalling Β£29.03 in due course. A copy of the notification from Customs is attached for your records. Many thanks Regardsβ

Nuno Viegas π΅πΉ Street Art β’ Graffiti β’ Print Release , by Riotcops on Oct 1, 2021 15:16:27 GMT 1, I was hoping they scrapped this edition from when they teased it a while back. Love Nuno's work but this one feels off. His other Shirt Mask's are much stronger.

Nuno Viegas π΅πΉ Street Art β’ Graffiti β’ Print Release , by mrizzle on Sept 17, 2022 23:07:26 GMT 1, Iβm surprised that nobody has mentioned Nunoβs new show with Underdogs. There are some really incredible pieces - some still available I think. I did manage to pick up one of these and cannot wait to receive it! Hopefully fewer customs issues this time around.
