I got one and my friend didn't. (he got a sold out email a couple of days later)
we where both first time buyers.
Im glad i got it as i was purchasing for my eyes, where my friend was thinking of weather he would get it as an investment.
so i think that means they actually did sell out... and fast..
My question is did they actually sell out? I sent an email 30 minutes after release, my friend send an email aprox 3 hours (definitley below six) after release. I got one and my friend didn't. (he got a sold out email a couple of days later) we where both first time buyers. Im glad i got it as i was purchasing for my eyes, where my friend was thinking of weather he would get it as an investment. so i think that means they actually did sell out... and fast.. |

Looking around 20k usd, but may hold after all as I unloaded a Banksy in this sales process and that gave me the funds I needed.
Ultimately wanted to keep these an, but damn wifes and new kitchens are e pensive.
Will either sell or pull the listing in the next 24 when Banksy payment clears

I'll have a go. I like the image, and did the moment I first saw it.
I like the fact he's painted just a fence. I see it as part of the theme often found in art of making the mundane something beautiful.
I also like the style of the painting. It feels dreamlike or ghostly to me. It's a fairly brutal looking fence. What is being kept inside or why is the viewer being kept out? Perhaps the viewer is in a speeding car; and that leads to more questions.
Personally, I think it's an excellent piece.

I agree with you, apart from your final sentence. It was a fair question, if for no other reason that it started a discussion about art (instead of value for a change!). Personally I would rather that members are not put off asking questions for fear that they are told that the question is stupid or banal. I would have agreed with you if he had not asked a question but had asserted that the painting is poor because it's a painting of a fence.
