Yes, if you have $20,000 to spend on a print. The issue is, his prints (for the most part) can only be obtained by a select segment of society, leaving out many that would actually collect his work if it were reasonably priced.

I hear this argument all the time, and while I think it makes sense, its lacking (imo) an understanding of how artists succeed, long term. They need fans, and they need collectors. And those two are not the same thing. Fans post on Instagram, buy charity releases and go to museum shows. Collectors by originals and donate to those museums. They’ve seen the work long before you even know a new body of work is in progress. They also have curator friends at those museums that will make sure the work is displayed. So while it may upset you that you can’t get a pace print, long term, unless you’re a big name collector, it’s probably a net positive for the artist.
Plus there the old “no artist owes any of us anything including the ability to own their art” but that’s pretty snarky and not very helpful.

I can see where he would appeal to urban white kids who think just anything black culture is cool because he looks like one growing up. I’m probably wrong but I just get the vibe of nerdy white guy trying to be cool. He looks like something Seattle or Portland threw up.
Let’s keep it about his art and less judgement on his looks? Posts like this just breed negativity.

Even his galleries have hesitated taking pieces in on consignment which is not a great sign. I believe there is a hand collaged book that hasn’t sold on here at basically cost. All would certainly give me pause spending 5 figures on a multiple of his at this point. Seemed to have a lot of steam at one point in his print market then stalled around the time the hybeasts got involved.

Agree totally. And I’m a fan personally and own several prints and other works. His paintings are beyond beautiful in person.
