Love is in the Air SIGNED at Christies on 3rd Dec, by BME on Dec 4, 2020 5:53:09 GMT 1, Yeah, thatโs serious cash. As far as Iโm aware the AP is the same as the normal edition so I donโt think thereโs be much between them in terms of price. Happy to be corrected by more knowledgeable forum members if Iโve got that wrong though!

Cyw would be my guess. Amazing image and each color(apart from the two greys)is a run of only 25.

Signed AP is not worth more than signed numbered. If anything some buyers prefer numbered because itโs more identifiably part of the edition.

"""""""Find out more about Banksyโs โPulp Fictionโ series, browse prints & editions for sale & view the works wanted by active buyers right now.
Banksyโs Pulp Fiction depicts a famous scene from the eponymous 1994 film by Quentin Tarantino. It was released in 2004 an edition of just 150 official Pulp Fiction signed and 600 unsigned prints. However, it first appeared in 2002 as a stencilled composition in the streets of London, near Old Street tube station. It was visible until 2007, until Transport for London painted over the wall, estimated at ยฃ300,000, on the grounds that the work lent an atmosphere of social decay and neglect in the capital, despite the well-known drawing art fans and tourists to the area. When the mural was covered, a local artist sprayed-painted the words โCome Backโ in its place, addressed to Banksy. Banksy then re-tagged his original Pulp Fiction in exactly the same place, but this time the characters were holding real pistols and wearing banana costumes instead.
READ LESS In January 2007, the late graffiti artist Ozone wrote over the new piece with the words โIf it's better next time I'll leave itโ. The 19-year-old artist tragically passed away a few days later, along with fellow artist Wants, after both were hit by an underground train in Barking, East London. Banksy created another piece over his original Pulp Fiction mural in tribute to the two young graffiti artists, depicting an angel wearing a bulletproof vest and holding a skull in his right hand. He also posted a note on his website that read โWhen we lost Ozone we lost a fearless graffiti writer and as it turns out a pretty perceptive art critic. Ozone โ rest in peaceโ. The tribute mural was quickly referred to as โOzone's Angelโ. Subsequently, Banksy's original Pulp Fiction mural also became immediately popular, and was mass-reproduced on commercial merchandise.
The work depicts the two characters played by Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta in the 1994 American film Pulp Fiction. Rendered in white stencilled forms on a black background, Banksy's version presents the protagonists Vincent and Jules, side-by-side and aiming their firearms in synchronisation. However, in a humorous and ironic twist, their pistols have been replaced by bright yellow bananas, the only touch of colour in the otherwise monochrome composition.
WHY IS PULP FICTION IMPORTANT?
Pulp Fiction first appears lighthearted, paying homage to the film and other aspects of popular culture. In fact, Banksy uses humour to subversively undermine ideas of war and violence, transforming the scene into something harmless and even laughable. Pulp Fiction has also been interpreted as a comment by Banksy on America's foreign policy, which he often overtly criticises, as can be seen in the works Have A Nice Day, Applause, Bomb Hugger or Flags.
Why we love Pulp Fictionโฆ โThere are several references to popular culture in Banksy's Pulp Fiction, in addition to the obvious reference to Tarantino's cult film. The bananas used as guns are also reminiscent of Andy Warhol's iconic 1967 album cover for American band The Velvet Underground, which depicts a banana on a monochrome background. They also recall Monty Python's sketch โSelf Defence Against Fresh Fruitโ, which appeared in the episode "Owl-Stretching Time" from Monty Pythonโs Flying Circus in 1969, in which an instructor teaches a class how to defend oneself against an assailant armed with a piece of fruit.โ """""""""

Love is in the Air SIGNED at Christies on 3rd Dec, by gimmeabreak on Dec 4, 2020 15:00:10 GMT 1, The big question is which image will be next to pull away from the pack? I think most of the prints made before Barely Legal will reach this point, since people did not treat these "pre-fame" editions with due care. I am confident that almost half of each edition ended up in a bin, or stapled to a wall, or worse. This mainly applies to the editions that sold out as of 2005; many created pre-2005 stayed in stock until Banksy picked up fame, and then people scooped them up, so this would not apply to those.
Something like CYW will clearly fetch a premium. That said, I expect the entire edition is in pristine condition, so in theory there is decent supply.
Based on the above, my eyes are on: Barcode, Laugh Now, Happy Choppers, Monkey Queen, HMV, Flying Copper, Pulp Fiction, Radar Rat, Placard Rats, CND, and J&J. Particularly signed versions of these, which I expect are in short supply by now.

Love is in the Air SIGNED at Christies on 3rd Dec, by Sundowner on Dec 4, 2020 15:08:51 GMT 1, Clearly the market is now very image dependent and signed vs unsigned and edition size has become less of a consideration for new buyers. That said I think there are some classic and well-known early images (Happy Choppers, Laugh Now and Flying Copper particularly) that I think have mileage and the rarer/smaller editions (Kate, Radar Rat) will continue to rise due to scarcity.
It will be interesting to see how things pan out at the rest of the auctions before Christmas and into 2021.
