I have gone out of my way to hopefully shed some light on this thread. I'm new to this and thought I posted in the right place, where the title is 'Banksy Keep it Real small canvas'. I am not your friend and know nobody on this site, neither do I have Facebook. By the way you do care about the power of money, hence your first question are you rich? Yes, I'm rich in love, life, happiness and presence. If the work ever gets sold I have more £. Big woop. If anyone wants any further clarification or guidance i'm here to help as much as I can. I wouldn’t place much weight on the cleanliness, would’ve been easier to gently clean the front with some water than the reverse. Whether or not it is hand painted is a flag, but can’t rule out it being legitimate even if hand painted. Maybe I’m just placing too much weight on the canvas but I feel even if I knew what the correct canvas should be, and tried to track it down to paint a fake I’d have a hell of a time. Having the correct canvas and a good enough painting that all of us who’ve seen tons of crappy fakes over the wonder if it could be legit.. seems like a winner.

so the artist stopped making these and we don't know for sure how many of the 15 were finished?
the one with the COA above doesn't look like any of the 5 in the photo from terryf**kwitt (in my eyes the boot sale one now actually looks more similar to the image from the show)

The one with POA honestly looks like it could have been painted yesterday and is a pristine as the day it was painted.
I am not infering anything by this at all, just that's it's mad how different things can look.

I understand your point but the certified one doesn't exactly look pristine. The paint is cracking all over.

only on the black and this crazing can happen on application if you apply the paint too thick and the solvents evaporate quickly causing the crazing or before the coat underneath is dry. This doesn't show that it's old.

Years ago...probably 10-ish years ago I was friendly with a member here here that had a very early small canvas. I think it may have been a Heavy Weaponry but not 100% sure, it was definitely that era.
He wanted to sell it so he went to try to get a certificate from PC and they told him something along the lines of "the artist wasn't happy with that piece" or similar language and they were going to decline to issue a COA. They didn't come out and say it was authentic but they also didn't say it wasn't. They offered to swap it with him for a print, I can't remember which one. I also remember telling him to request another canvas of the same size. (it was very small) He was also asked not to publicize it.
We both wondered if there was a much smaller scale backdoor print issue for canvas editions at the time. I don't know if that is at play with this work but just wanted to mention this as there may be some members closer to that camp with more knowledge that this might ping their memory.
