Ben Eine , by njr911 on Nov 2, 2020 11:21:01 GMT 1, Since you know your watches, what's the best way to obtain a Perpetual Oyster 41 in Green for RRP. UK based. Is it possible? Go on the list and wait unfortunately. A mate got one a few weeks ago but I think he was a) lucky and b) a good customer of the AD

Ben Eine , by curiousgeorge on Nov 17, 2020 0:40:40 GMT 1, OP are entry level and shouldn't require a purchase history or preferred client nonsense. Demand is vastly outstripping stripping supply right now. Who and why is anyones guess
Hope the situation changes for the OP. I've been aware of another artist with addiction issues, his 'mangement team' would give him access to funds direct from sales in a heartbeat. There but for the grace of God I go...

They wouldn't be my 'management team' very long if they withheld proceeds from the sale of my artworks, irrespective of my personal situation.

Ben Eine , by Hubble Bubble on Nov 17, 2020 9:49:03 GMT 1, he must be bored shitless with the alphabet Dunno... when it's your 'thing' and is wall friendly and popular, what's wrong with that as an artist? Full disclosure I have a few of Ben's pieces and I get the 'meh' attitude to the subject matter but I personally don't share it - especially with it stemming from an art form (graffiti) that has such a history of the written word being its subject matter rather than the witty Banksy and acolyte visual pun pieces we now have come to think of as 'normal' - I have no problem with the alphabet works. Time and time again artists revert to their 'safe' work... I think of Indiana's 'LOVE' series, Warhol's pop portraits of everyone from Sitting Bull to Queen Elizabeth II, Stubbs and those bloody horses, Turner and those misty landscapes he kept churning out... okay, I'm being facetious but you get my drift.
Anyway... just saying that I like Eine's alphabet work and I have no problem with the work being produced and purchased. What I will say that, like it or loathe it, much of the work is absolutely fabulously realised - often up to 50 colour screen prints, superb multicoloured glitter backed or concrete primed canvasses from someone who obviously knows not only how to create art from their chosen visual perspective but also to deliver that that art technically.
I will also say that, even with the addiction and lifestyle issues the artist is living with (I would stress that I refer not to a previous conviction for assault) the above in no way changes my opinion that the OP has been shabbily treated, that it's reprehensible to take money and not deliver on a promise and that I hope they receive the work or the money very soon.

Ben Eine , by Hubble Bubble on Nov 17, 2020 10:06:01 GMT 1, he must be bored shitless with the alphabet Like Stik of doing stik-men, like Noir of doing heads, like Murakami of doing flowers, like Chevrier of doing comics masks, like Gondek of doing nuclear characters etc etc... That’s his style, it works for him and for his fans and for the market. If he gets bored, he’ll do something else, I suppose. Obviously, this is what I meant to say but am too verbose for my own good.

Ben Eine , by Film Director 247 on Nov 17, 2020 15:39:05 GMT 1, I saw these when they originally came out and they were £50. I got a full size M print in the Jealous gallery sale for £75 the week before so couldn't really justify spending £50 on a greetings card.
That being said, I quite like them and a more reasonable price at £25.

Ben Eine , by Pipes on Jun 3, 2021 15:32:52 GMT 1, I commissioned a canvas nearly two months ago, paid in full Sporadic communication now no communication at all ? Tried to contact him on Instagram although responds to his feeds no answer to private dms? Anyone in contact with him? You paid in advance ? Here's the story behind his heroin addiction.
Much more serious than I was aware.
Very honest interview.
