Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but 100% fake - incredibly dark and you can see a tint of tone in the bottom right corner where the paper should be pure white, it'll be from a bad scan.

Was offered one exactly the same with a flyer about a year ago but gave it a swerve ... I thought the dots were a bit suspect.

Banksy Petrol bomb - fake vs genuine, by jamieb on Nov 26, 2020 18:05:22 GMT 1, I'm genuinely finding this is all quite upsetting.
I was pretty gutted that I'd bought the poster from what I thought was a genuine seller only to find it was fake, but I identified the day it arrived and got a refund.
To have bought one ages ago, had it framed and being someones pride and joy on the wall, to then find out you have been sold a fake is really shitty.
I really didn't know I had opened a can of worms with this post.
I hope people can get refunds or didn't pay the current crazy prices.
It would be interesting to know where these had been purchased from and see if it's the same sellers?

Banksy Petrol bomb - fake vs genuine, by gross on Nov 26, 2020 19:41:41 GMT 1, I bought it the same day of the release. I talked a lot with the women who sold it to me, she sent me pictures prooving she was there, and I also got a sticker that was given there. She wasn't a collector, she realised she was at the right place at the right moment. I was poorly packed with 99,99% chances it will arrive damaged. So she had to refund it (she didn't have another one to replace it, wich would have alerting me of a possible fake)
This one look perfect 👌

Banksy Petrol bomb - fake vs genuine, by artcave on Nov 26, 2020 19:44:56 GMT 1, Someone just got suckered for £3,200 on this fake. Hard to feel too sorry for the buyer when the shîtehawk seller has used a stock image of a genuine poster as his main image which looks nothing like the photo of his fake in the same listing. I mean, just look how obvious the differences are with the smoke?! long time member innit

I find it unlikely that so many original purchasers would have grabbed 5 flyers and 5 stickers to sell them together with the 5 posters they paid a fiver each for. I certainly didn’t.

Banksy Petrol bomb - fake vs genuine, by Nuno on Nov 26, 2020 21:30:33 GMT 1, We need people to say where/who they are buying these from.
I do find it strange that some choose the Banksy forum to sell dodgy gear. There’s a lot of clowns here but there’s also some proper experts that should be employed by auction houses to stop this nonsense. If it’s going to get spotted anywhere you’d think it would be here. Perhaps that’s part of the buzz?!

Me either, After queuing for hours in the rain I got one flyer and sticker. I’ve since lost the sticker but kept the flyer. Have only 2 posters left as swapped the other 3 for other pieces of art memorabilia (that are worth next to nothing!) live and learn 🤷🏻♂️

Not wrong but I think users buying off others employing a post pictures before buying strategy to double check is more likely to work. A lot of people aren’t just going to start outing people...

Banksy Petrol bomb - fake vs genuine, by Lroy on Nov 26, 2020 21:52:37 GMT 1, Easy to reckon a genuine One ( sorry just shot it under my shitty flat light ) : The blue background is very pale .... and the signature too ( as if it was with a paper pen, I mean discrete ). I saw one upside there, the signature is too black and pronounced. Hope it helps. .

Obviously those that are producing fake prints are scammers, but not everyone selling a fake is necessarily a scammer, they may be blissfully unaware that what they bought and are are now selling is a fake.
But then we're left with possibly the worst scammers of all - particularly now that this thread has highlighted the glaringly obvious flaws in fakes - those who now know they're in possession of a fake and will now knowingly scam buyers.
those that bought fakes at £1000 + will probably keep Quiet to try to offload

Banksy Petrol bomb - fake vs genuine, by Lroy on Nov 27, 2020 0:30:42 GMT 1, exactly, as i sold mine years ago here on uaa, thinking it was real, but my kid spilled water on it so it was damaged n sold it at a discount because i didn’t want it with the damage, n that made me a scammer as well, because i unknowingly sold a fake!!!!! jamie put me off on the 2nd one, i bought another at a fair price from the same cunt who sold me the other years before, n it was literally at the framers, about 2 pay hundreds more 4 framing a fake, n thankfully he reached out 2 me, n our stories matched up lock step so at that point it just clicked that indeed i was robbed, not once, but twice, by the same seller!!!!
Do we know him ? Who is he ? There is police for these kind o guys. 1k is very big money for ordinary people, working in small jobs and having this passion of art.
I know two scammers on here. And some others. One is a bit wellknown. The other one a bit less, but not so much.
If I had a fake anyway, I won’t sell it - I have a Banksy Keep Left sticker and I’m sure it’s a fake, and a Wrong War ( as this one above but folded, vey pale ) but as the guy that was a member here told me that he was not sure of the provenance and thought that it was maybe a fake, I refuse to sell it too. I ’m breaking this stealing system. Some knows that they bought a fake, but not scrupulous at all, they don’t break the chain and system and still continue to feed the chain. They should not. I bought 4 sign roads, all fakes too - from Bristol, WSM, Tauton - , awful ones, but I was new in Banksy collection : so they got me. For me it’s a crime because they abuse of common people, youths or less youths...
An example ( not mine )

An example ( not mine ) http://instagr.am/p/yxEgf_j0SH Care to name-names on the scammers?!
I did not named anyone ?!! I did not found my poster, can’t relever the name of this poster, and found this one on the net. I did not said thisIG person is a scammer ?! Anyway, I won’t tell any naked don’t be afraid, even if it’s good to prevent people about these gangsters. They idiots, they rob youths, common people, and iam not afraid of them.

Banksy Petrol bomb - fake vs genuine, by jamieb on Nov 27, 2020 14:51:38 GMT 1, I see people want to know who sold the fakes to myself and mattmma22
I don't see a problem naming them as they were fake (fact) and they did give a full refund including the cost of return postage so did the right thing when it was brought to their attention they were indeed fake.
Although really they should probably have been destroyed rather than sent back?
They were purchased direct from Nick Clark who is on here as "lobster"
