on a personal note growing up queer in the 80s/90s and all the abuse/societal shame that came with that, and still does to a degree, it is amazing to see a statue like this, cast in bronze and celebrating diversity and the lgbtqia+ community being put up by a council and the hype around the associated posters featuring that image, if somebody had told me then i wouldn't have believed it, although the world has a long way to go still

Not everyone sees the meaning behind the image , as previous poster pointed out a lack of discussion about the actual image and statue ,
Agree a great point of discussion and can create positive discussion

Definitely! Lets not get bogged down too much in trying to find the posters (I suspect mostly to flip further down the line) and lets remember there is a great piece of art at the heart of this which we can all go and visit! Fantastic gift from Stik and Hackney Council.

Interesting to read that it was initially commissioned to be 6m but Stik sized it down. A fantastic gift from Stik and the local council as you say and a wonderful commitment to celebrating diversity. I think it’s bloody brilliant. The comments from Stik about the pieces are fantastic and really interesting.
