International Art Centre Auctions • New Zealand, by Deleted on Aug 11, 2020 10:36:54 GMT 1, So what are signed editions of these prints worth? I'd guess these crazy NZ results would have to be taken as outliers (if that's the right terminology?) I mean an unsigned WSM sold for £30k a few weeks back and that doesn't suddenly make it worth £30k. If it does then I'd like to announce I have a WSM for sale for £29.5k.
Would love to know why these are moving for so much money over there. Rarity? Any NZ members got any input?

I would say those prints were sold to buyers outside of NZ. There have been a few sales over the last two years over there but they never really hit the big prices.
Now Banksy collectors are hunting all over the world so we will see big numbers everywhere

GBP is basically 2 to 1 NZD.. think he typo'd the police kids nzd result but half of 78 and 120 is basically 39 and 60 gbp (which he put in correctly) and looks like another 20% from there (which is what lv typed)
N.B. 17.5% Buyers premium plus GST (20.12% total) on premium applies to all items purchased.
i suspect that the results are hammer and not plus BP

I was at the auction. A few in-room bidders, and lots on the phones. The two winning bids went to two young dudes - money didn’t seem an issue. Had a chat to one of them afterwards and he said they had just got a new office and had some empty walls.
Reason they’re selling for so much down here at the moment is because we are on the other side of covid, but no other countries are so the boarders are still closed. So the people who are usually spending big $$ on overseas travel and now dropping huge amounts on luxury items - art, antique, jewellery, etc.

Probably a stupid question, but I always thought there were 350 signed. So 150 out of the total 350 are signed?

Almost every single online 'gallery' or 'expert' Banksy print resource presents woefully embarrassing incorrect information on this print.
I suspect the auction house googled the info and took the information they repeatedly found as gospel.
It's an edition of 700, split into 350 signed and 350 unsigned.
Buyer could dispute this - not mentioned anywhere in the catalogue. Also no mention of Soup Can being 300 - with 250 unsigned.
