Julian Opie π¬π§ Statuette β’ Pop Art Portrait β’ Lenticular , by nah on Mar 26, 2018 17:03:13 GMT 1, Hi, I picked this up little original from RCA secret, I believe in 2013.
It is postcard size. Paint on card, and part of a series of around four or so (I believe) that he made for the exhibition. Signed on the back (pic of the reverse available on request). Reminiscent of his 1996 piece 'There Are Hills in the Distance' which is in the Tate collection (pictured blow to contextualize this piece).
Hard to know what sort of value this has, but would have difficulty considering offers less than Β£750 or so, small and simple as the piece may be.
Thank you!

Julian Opie π¬π§ Statuette β’ Pop Art Portrait β’ Lenticular , by Ruggs on Nov 8, 2018 14:08:25 GMT 1, I own a number of posters from various shows and events but unfortunately i've never been able to be at any of them. Most are vintage and way before I started collecting art. The one poster I value more than any other though is my Felix Gonzalez-Torres/Christopher Wool 'Untitled' (1993) stack poster from Gonzalez-Torres's retrospective at the Guggenheim Museum, New York, 1995.

Julian Opie π¬π§ Statuette β’ Pop Art Portrait β’ Lenticular , by avec art on Nov 9, 2018 0:34:47 GMT 1, I had a genuine one given out at what was called Museum of Modern Art Oxford (now MAO) after an exhibition. I stuck mine on the f**king wall and it got completely trashed by all the goings on in the shared house, it ended up in the f**king bin. While my mate kept his rolled to this day, and he doesn't believe me about its value. Well I enjoyed it while it lasted, its fun to puzzle out what it reads.

Julian Opie π¬π§ Statuette β’ Pop Art Portrait β’ Lenticular , by phischa on Nov 9, 2018 9:01:38 GMT 1, Fair enough thedutchvenus , it's just a poster.
The previous comment was about how costly the poster might be on the secondary market. As I've been looking for one for quite some time, I've seen that there were indeed some hefty price tags. I think we both agree that if you're buying a poster for some hundred quid, you want to be sure it's legit. Maybe using the word 'authetification' was misleading.
edit: The stack of posters is an interactive sculpture by Felix Gonzalez-Torres and Christopher Wool. Authentication is not possible as every gallerist can add posters (as far as I know). There's no limitiation.
If it's adequate to take away posters from the stack anyway is another question.

Julian Opie π¬π§ Statuette β’ Pop Art Portrait β’ Lenticular , by Lroy on Nov 9, 2018 10:53:16 GMT 1, I went to the show and all I could take home for free was the posters ( a lot signed ) ...
We can say what we want but the guys are great, they signed mostly all the afternoon the posters....
And the show is one of the greatest that they have done ( the fresco at the railway station is one of the biggest in Europe ) ...
I like this poster a lot, even if it is a simple one...

Thanks a little. Was wondering what the passage is in reference to.
