New Harland Miller Print, by posterbob on Apr 9, 2020 17:30:34 GMT 1, It's irrational to expect not to have to pay for paper and the printer's labor. I can't see a point in chastizing them for this unless you're aware of something we aren't, such as The Connor Brothers having an in-house printer that they operate themselves .

Not really when it's X5 edition size of a lot of his other editions. £6000 is OK if you have the cash for a massive edition & love the image, and are OK with waiting til maybe autumn for it to arrive.

But aren't the smaller editions more like £20,000 at source these days? So, big edition, but at least a relatively affordable price... although I'm still not sure I'd go for one, TBH!

No, they didn't release another print. Fake news.

New Harland Miller Print, by teabaggins on Apr 9, 2020 18:07:14 GMT 1, The language of war around coronavirus has come under its own metaphorical fire in recent days—descriptions of the UK prime minister Boris Johnson as a “fighter” who will “win this battle” appearing “trite and misleading”, as the BBC journalist Emily Maitlis summed up so flawlessly on Newsnight last night. The British artist Harland Miller, who has made a career out of deadpan one-liners, has also turned a usually gung-ho aphorism—who dares wins—into something more considerate for these troubling times: who cares wins. White Cube is now selling 250 editions of the print, Who Cares Wins (2020), created in the style of Miller’s Penguin dust jacket series. Priced at £5,000 each, the aim is to raise £1.25m for those working on the coronavirus frontline, particularly carers. Miller says he first thought of the words when thinking about caring for people with dementia, specifically his dad. “At the time the phrase worked like a five second pep talk to myself, to keep caring, because really that’s all I could do,” he says “Sitting here in my flat, nursing mercifully mild symptoms of Covid-19, I see from the lowering sun outside, it’s been a while since I wrote that last line… this inertia maybe a symptom of Covid-19, but it may also be that then—as now—caring is all we can do. And caring for the carers… is, I imagine, one of the ways we can do this best.’ All proceeds of the sale will be donated to the National Emergencies Trust in the UK, the New York Community Trust and HandsOn Hong Kong. Part of the UK funds will also go to the York Teaching Hospital Charity to support NHS staff in hospitals across Yorkshire, England where Miller was born.

This is the same image as the Liberty one but recoloured. The Liberty I think may have been digital whereas this is a screen print. The Liberty one was smaller and a smaller edition.

It's marketing
they can make the profit whatever they want, production costs 50%, add on some extra bits, we all know how to do this? No? nett profit 5%? 50?
They have earnt a lot off the back of theft etc,
How much would this have cost them in total? £3k? its nothing for what they will earn off the back of it,
If they had of said all proceeds then yes, i take my hat off, but they didn't
Its bollocks
You didn't get the email from Maddox?

It's marketing they can make the profit whatever they want, production costs 50%, add on some extra bits, we all know how to do this? No? nett profit 5%? 50? They have earnt a lot off the back of theft etc, How much would this have cost them in total? £3k? its nothing for what they will earn off the back of it, If they had of said all proceeds then yes, i take my hat off, but they didn't Its bollocks You didn't get the email from Maddox? So you don't have a clue what the actual percentage of the £120 cost is donated to charity and you don't like them. I don't like them either but you can't assume that they're doing this with ill intent.
Again, yes it is. According to your poor logic all charity workers shouldn't earn salaries, they should just donate their time. You should be happy those shysters raised some money. No, they didn't release another print. Fake news. It's marketing they can make the profit whatever they want, production costs 50%, add on some extra bits, we all know how to do this? I'm sure a member won an edition of this from a raffle giveaway they did. Also I think there is pink with the different font aswell.
