Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by Terry Fuckwitt on Mar 13, 2020 19:41:59 GMT 1, If 100% of people self isolated when they have any onset of symptoms, I think things could carry on as much as normal. Unfortunately our world is full of selfish arse holes who only look out for themselves. Anyway, I'm going to try to post minimum on this thread, as I can see this art forum being infected by this virus soon. Firstly you are infectious up to 5 days before symptoms, some doctors think it’s 14 days. Also a lot of these selfish arseholes are people who are struggling financially and can’t afford to not work due to low wages or life situation(never mind not knowing they have it to start with). If they don’t work they can’t afford their rent or food not even discussing people with dependents. How does a janitor, waitress, labourer who can barely afford to live as is work from home. I suppose they should just pull up their boot straps the lazy arseholes. There are societal problems at play here that people just seem to ignore or even worse just call everyone else an arsehole. I feel like the real virus has been here long before corona. Enjoy your virtue signalling fuckwitt
No need to be rude, have a little read

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by tab1 on Mar 13, 2020 19:49:57 GMT 1, It’s obvious corona is already widespread. Trudeau, hanks, bolsonaro, arteta, dorries. If these people have it how doesn’t everyone else? The only people being tested are rich, powerful or dangerously sick. The numbers for infected are so understated it is causing mass hysteria with the whole it’s 10 times worse than flu etc, when in the same breath people complain there is no testing but use the tested figures to suit their hysteria narrative. I’m willing to bet that in the next week Trump or pence will have corona if only based on the direct links they have had to infected people. It can be bad and it can be serious but the mass hysteria people are spouting is sickening and really doesn’t help anything. Right now it is factually not worse than flu based on deaths. Irrelevant of infected numbers. Some of the things people are stating is so out of touch it’s amazing. Work from home as if everyone can do that. Shut the schools as if people can afford childcare. I find it more scary to watch people act in this way than i fear getting it. Stats for flu is per year , this virus has only been around since November in one country and in other countries a month the flu is already established and present in whole populations it is not really comparable at the end of the year 2020 can compare stats to the flu virus not everyone with the virus is being picked up

Being vigilant and washing your hands and isolating yourself if you’re ill is one thing and really should be done at all times, it’s doesn’t mean you have to worry about this and do all the other irrational and pointless things other people are doing. The masks, closing of schools, shutting down travel are all reactionary and uncertain they’ll do any good.

But being the 1 in 4 that this states to me is just ignorant and selfish.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by tab1 on Mar 13, 2020 20:24:34 GMT 1, Until all countries start sharing their data and enough kits are made to undertake mass screening there is no factual data to prove a decline .
If mass hysteria grips the mass public and civil unrest ensues what can the governments do at the moment ? Limited need to know information is being released ,
China is a world force in the global economy and this has effected their market share greatly they will release mis information to regain world markets .
They tried to cover up the outbreak when knew 3 months before official statement and now still restricting news from the internet

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by moron on Mar 13, 2020 20:46:18 GMT 1, It would be good if the authorities did something about the dirty bastards who go around gobbing in the street everywhere and spitting. And on public transport too.
The messages from government are very feeble. No public broadcasts telling people to wash hands and be clean. Supermarket staff are wearing rubber gloves now.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by tab1 on Mar 13, 2020 21:17:20 GMT 1, Stats for flu is per year , this virus has only been around since November in one country and in other countries a month the flu is already established and present in whole populations it is not really comparable at the end of the year 2020 can compare stats to the flu virus not everyone with the virus is being picked up I agree 100% that it won’t be known for a while. It doesn’t mean you can’t look at the rates to date though. My point is there are a lot of people stating things like 2-3% of populations will die and it’s 40 times worse than flu. I don’t think it’s right to say that considering the full extent of people who have it isn’t known as people aren’t tested. It could be that 20% of the pop has already had it, it only impacted people in different ways and everyone is only looking at the smaller test pools which were the worst cases, which seems likely. No comparison will be the same but it has to be compared to something to be kept in perspective. The whole thread is about what impact this will have on the art market but the way it’s going it will destroy most markets, stocks are battered and Europe is ready to follow that at this rate. the question is, is that warranted based on what’s happened to date compared to other diseases/ illnesses. As you state 20 % of population could of had it , they had not reported issues and died from other related health issues they the deceased had long term previously , therefore death would not be attributed to the virus or logged statically as all deaths from the virus are from previously tested patients , there are not enough kits to check each body not previously tested.
stat from the internet 1370 average deaths per day in the uk, if during an autopsy the test could be carried out would gain a truer picture of the spread of the virus
As a lot of information released from most deaths states they also had other health related issues
there for the stats to date do not represent true figures .
america is now putting in place my thoughts earlier of blanket testing , there for quicker to contain and isolate individuals. also stockpiling crude oil now , so are looking at a long term epidemic
its effecting people in different ways as evolving in different countries, environments ,DNA that effects the virus development
Jusr from the actions of world governments it is a dangerous situation and restricted information releases are in place .
everyone can analyse the situation how they want and take best actions or not for their own and families

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by moron on Mar 13, 2020 21:20:40 GMT 1, How do we know that these high profile people are infected. Hanks is an actor and Trudeau is a politician. It would be easy for these and similar people to say they have caught covid for different reasons.
People with a cough are ignored by the health service hotline whilst footballers and other wealthy types get tested straight away.
It's all very interesting.
Where did the virus originate and by what means?
Media says it was transferred to people at a fish and animal market in Wuhan where people got it from eating exotic wild animals.
The virus started in Wuhan and it took a while for the Chinese gov to totally lock down Wuhan.
The virus has not spread across the whole of China in the same way that it has spread across the whole of the US. It seems to have been prevented from spreading across all of China but has infected people in neighbouring countries.
Apparently there is some sort of gov bio engineering lab in or near Wuhan. Was the virus created there and tested on the locals?
Was the virus created there and accidentally got into the local population?
Was the virus created there and people deliberately infected and then sent to different countries to spread the virus?
Or was it just an accident from people eating wild animals who had a virus that transferred to humans?

Tomorrow morning Spanish government will declare something similar for all the country, and we’ll see if they close everything Some of us will be able to work at home, kids are at home, this is insane... but necessary. This should have been done before... people are too quick to forget...most recently, post 2008 people got a glimpse of who runs the systems that run the populous, we are mere decimals of decimal numbers on a spread sheet. Make quarantine plans for you and yours, keep a calm head and be patient, like it is said: this too shall pass Shall pass along with a few others

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by moron on Mar 13, 2020 23:09:42 GMT 1, A socialist trapped inside the body of a Tory. I heard he was recently offering to meet his constituents by sleeping over on their sofa's. He's definitely a tad eccentric and possibly way too nice to be in politics. Once a tory, always a tory. Check his voting record. Sounds a gimmick to get elected as mayor. I'm sure he's a nice bloke though. One of the last things Rory Stewart did as Justice Minister, was FREE the 'Monster of Worcester’, David McGreavy was jailed for life in 1973 for murdering Elsie Urry’s three children & impaling their little bodies on a spiked Fence!!

So Stewart is clearly out of touch with reality.

Corona Virus effect on the art market?, by Javier on Mar 14, 2020 15:42:54 GMT 1, I can’t understand why UK is still doing nothing. It’s gonna hit hars there soon, and if actions are not taken soon things will go worse than Italy or Spain together

If it works ?no studies to say it is effective and can not compare to the flu virus like everyone keeps doing ?!
The flu has decades of data and study work this is new and no comparables The virus is in infant stage and is evolving , mutations may occur

That's the explanation I've heard (should have made it clear in the post). Not saying it makes any sense.
