We have yet to see how many of the AA editions fair on the secondary market, they have pretty tight hold on that element too, this like many of the other make ready prints leaves me cold. Your'e buying something which will never be worth as much as you pay for it within in your lifetime. I hope you like it.

Surely if people are concerned about edition sizes then timed editions aren’t the way to go? I’ll admit that consistency from AA should be applied with these type of releases but talk of being able to cancel orders seems a little unfounded. It’s a timed release?

I’m pretty sure they gave an update on the number of orders for the Ringers print near the end, which had an edition size of over 700. I don’t think they have a consistent process for releasing that info, but I also don’t think they’re using it to put their fingers on the scale.

I don’t think anyone needs to be ‘offered the opportunity to cancel’ - if they want to cancel they can, just email AA. I once had to do this for other reasons and AA were absolutely fine about it.

It changes the type of drop, timed drops are generally blind so as not to influence the final outcome and numbers.They never said it would be, but this harks back to the bad old days and the WW Vase colour change debacle.

Just buy it. And if you don’t like the edition size, ask for a refund. Simples.

Far from being "unscrupulous" I think AA acted with complete transparency about the change in specificaton of the AWW vase, all buyers were then offered a full refund if they no longer wanted to go ahead with their purchase, hardly the actions of an unscrupulous company me thinks.

Gosh!  You've really got it in for AA, haven't you.  Why would anybody want to cancel their order?  No goal posts have been moved.

I completely agree with this.  AA did absolutely everything right with regard to the change in the vase.  Especially given that the change was instigated by the artist.  They respected the artist's change in direction and then gave people a chance to change their mind once it happened.  They made sure that the forum was completely up to speed with the changes and answered all of our questions quickly.  Not sure what exactly anyone could be upset about unless they have a frosted orange glass fetish.  Now they are being transparent about the print numbers with people in the forum.  AA should be celebrated.

A nice bigger etching from 2002 sold on the 15th Dec at Forum for £1700 - so if you are looking to make a return, i wouldn't think it's a flip - one for the wall - which is how it should be I guess. Here is the details....

Just checked with AA and artwork is based on a previous gouache from 2016. Dont like when artist take editions as a pure support (copy & paste) and dont create a real artwork specially for each edition release...

They always have a boost sale at the end , guess sizing the edition (it was a first on a mail for AA for a timed edition) before the end also help.

Your'e definitely overpaying for this one then if that is the case.

As a prior owner of this piece I can say it’s not so good and I sold mine. It’s an etching and much more flat than I expect this screen-print will be.

don’t mind this. It’s been reworked to make a 23 (?) layer silkscreen print with some interesting inks. I love silk  screens so very happy with the piece. The original will be worth £20-50k too…

Only 332 - wow! Actually might be a decent price for this after all!

However, it does show what a poor condition the print market is in - year or so ago this would have been an edition of 1000 plus easily, with many expecting a quick flip! Nice looking print though and a good one for people to stick on their wall - it will appreciate over time
