Yoon Hyup 🇰🇷 Print Release • Show News • Art For Sale, by Acme Thunderer on Aug 23, 2024 15:14:23 GMT 1, New release via Avant Arte..
I can understand why some AA prints are not screen printed, but can’t see why this has to be a digital print (archival pigment print) when previous prints from Yoon Hyup have been screen prints.

Yoon Hyup 🇰🇷 Print Release • Show News • Art For Sale, by Dinin on Aug 23, 2024 16:43:22 GMT 1, New release via Avant Arte.. I can understand why some AA prints are not screen printed, but can’t see why this has to be a digital print (archival pigment print) when previous prints from Yoon Hyup have been screen prints. His last edition with AA was also pigment printed, but his first with them was silkscreen. Maybe he's just come to prefer the method more recently? Without seeing two works side by side in person it would be hard to weigh the benefits of one over the other when it comes to his editions. Outside of personal preference at least. I certainly wouldn't think that YH or AA were trying to cut costs!

I certainly wouldn't think that YH or AA were trying to cut costs! I expect this is more to do with AA influencing than the artist dictating.
I’m sure most artists would prefer traditional methods of screen printing than a digital print, in the same way most collectors prefer screen prints than digital prints (for those who understand the difference).
AA are not cutting costs, but they have invested a lot in Make-Ready and in-house digital production so it makes sense for them as a business.
It makes it an easy pass for me, but I very much doubt AA could care less what I think even though I get early access and pre-sales.

It makes it an easy pass for me, but I very much doubt AA could care less what I think even though I get early access and pre-sales. Hmmm. I think you're a great bloke and a valued member of this community, so from my perspective you immediately deserve the benefit of doubt if/when I disagree with your views... but you seem to call out Avant Arte continuously and don't let things go. It's now getting to the point where you seem to have some kind of vendetta against them.
Full disclosure, I'm a repeat customer of theirs but honestly and genuinely can't name another art intermediary that I've had better service from. I've never felt like I've been mislead, or worried about the quality of their prints. Mind you, I don't always get included on pre-sale emails that I may expect but I try to avoid feeling entitled.
So I'm curious and not trying to inflame the situation, but is there any underling issue here, or am I barking up the wrong tree?

So I'm curious and not trying to inflame the situation, but is there any underling issue here, or am I barking up the wrong tree? I’ve bought from AA in the past and more than happy with those releases and been positive about them. If there is something that could be better then no issues with pointing out. I guess I should take it as a compliment my opinions (right or wrong 😉) are listened to (but won’t ever be offended if ignored 😉).
At the moment, I must admit, I have been left underwhelmed by their recent releases and really hope that they will release something that gets me excited again.
I’ve shared all information about this release as others would not be aware, but I just think this one could have easily been a screen print though.

Yoon Hyup 🇰🇷 Print Release • Show News • Art For Sale, by JW on Aug 23, 2024 21:47:00 GMT 1, I’ve bought from AA in the past and more than happy with those releases and been positive about them. I’ve shared all information about this release as others would not be aware, but I just think this one could have easily been a screen print though. Absolutely fair enough, and perhaps I'm guilty of confirmation bias given my past positive experience.
I'm also generally biased towards screen prints over other printing methods, but appreciate that it's not necessarily relevant for others, nor is it critical for certain releases. Ultimately we'd all prefer originals, right?
So I assume that above all else. your concern is around transparency - which I agree is key.

Yoon Hyup 🇰🇷 Print Release • Show News • Art For Sale, by Gentle Mental on Aug 24, 2024 14:22:33 GMT 1, Inkjet. Silkscreen. They are all ink no?
I think there could be little things that an inkjet can do that silkscreen can’t.
This one is nice. But pricey.
Who’s pulling the trigger?

Yoon Hyup 🇰🇷 Print Release • Show News • Art For Sale, by its all about me on Aug 24, 2024 20:59:17 GMT 1, Inkjet. Silkscreen. They are all ink no? I think there could be little things that an inkjet can do that silkscreen can’t. This one is nice. But pricey. Who’s pulling the trigger? Not me. I find it a bit disappointing, to be honest. His Paris print had added gold leaf which really made it look special. This is just a standard print. And I prefer his cityscapes whilst this one seems to be a close-up shot of a small street corner or something like that. He's done much better stuff than this.
