Banksy Black Spray Can, Gross Domestic Product™, by tab1 on Jul 6, 2021 20:16:28 GMT 1, I am looking for offers from £25k, Price reflects that these will not get a COA as stated from Pest and I think price is close to what gift prints sell for.
What would they sell for if they had a coa ?

A lot more, £100k i would guess
Still a pretty good return for a £10 investment, what would it be in % terms

People always use tate ward to justify high prices
With all the back door dealings and fakes being sold and shill bids would not really count their sales as genuine unless you are selling 👀😬

Its just the crux of all Banksy items; provenance or bust. Its heads or tails on which of the items is more difficult to convincingly reproduce. Looking at the items, they both were released directly by Banksy under the GDP header. Banksy is more known for his prints whereas the spray can is signed.
In addition to further the idea of the pricing parity, a signed mug sold for 5k in an auction I referenced and the free rat screen print also had reached that same pricing threshold shortly after at auction.
As Tab1 brought out, auctions arent the be all, end all. But they can give a general idea.

Banksy Black Spray Can, Gross Domestic Product™, by Woodey1001 on Jul 7, 2021 8:05:23 GMT 1, This is such a jokes thread.
The only comparable piece to this recently is Damien Horst signed coke cans.
Believe it or not, he's a bigger artist, bigger following and one that commands higher prices than Banksy. More importantly Hirst is represented in so many museums, countless. Whereas Banksy er.. none?
£100k? More like £100. Which is still 10x what you paid for it.
It's an autograph, a novelty. Not a holy grail art piece. Compare it to their autographs even.
Get a grip people!

So on that basis should we all stick our walled off sections on eBay for £99?
Hang on. They’re not signed. £50?

Hand painted limited editions, with COA? Not comparable.

I don’t think re creating the items are easy, the same could be for any piece. The one that was attempted that came up here was so far off looking convincing. That doesn’t change potential value of the piece. Banksy as we know hasn’t just done prints (cd, notes, watch towers pre walled off, ice cream cone in Bristol museum….list goes on) but as we all know there are more prints.
The mug is very different to the can in my opinion.
The can for me was one of the best items, anyone who likes graffiti or street art has to like the can. A can represents the theme. Also It’s the artists paintbrush.
The mention of Tate ward, can went for 20k there. But I don’t think we can keep referencing Tate ward, for me some people choose not to buy from them, they have generally some poor results across Banksys. And lastly for an item like this I don’t think you can see the prov before buying which is an important part.

Not comparable. Go buy an unsigned hirst vs a unsigned banksy. Even the non coa banksys will go for much higher.
Who is comparing artists anyway? And why with the coke can?
I didn’t pay what you think I did for it. Plus it’s a pointless argument as it goes for any Banksy. Banksys will always be sold….does it matter?
It is a holy grail art piece 🙂

Coke can is a signed artwork from a well represented artist in museums, globally.
Spray can is an autograph for an artist that has only so far been represented by Bristol town hall or wherever it is. 🤷

Just to clarify my memory, but these mugs were not painted or signed by Banksy, right? From what I recall, they were made by kids and one of them even had his name misspelled on it.

Banksy Black Spray Can, Gross Domestic Product™, by Lroy on Sept 18, 2021 18:27:37 GMT 1, Hi, I won a Banksy can in the GDP loto. No COA as I don't think they are getting them, I have requested confirmation of this from pest control today. In original packaging, in flight delivery correspondence etc. Any one interested? Can forward on pictures etc if anyone is interested. Thanks. Be nice, i'm new. What price had you in mind? Be nice I'm old Be nice I cleaned my flat.... :-) and brain...
Just asking, for each items GDP said that the COA will be sent few years later no ?
Or Pest Control gives up....
No captain on the boat ? Anyway, 20 k seems a bit excessive ! For 10 k more you a the Banksiat print that is pure art and masterpiece, even if I reckon that the can is a little gem.... Cushions are already at 20 k too no ?
5 K ( how much tees are selling for ? ) ... no more.. .
*They are/were supposed to be ulimited, not cushion, nor Banksiat....

Banksy Black Spray Can, Gross Domestic Product™, by Lroy on Sept 18, 2021 19:03:17 GMT 1, I think you will regret selling this, I know I would be livid if I had a momentary Laps of reason. would drive me nuts while looking at the place it used to be displayed. If I won I'd like to think is would be displayed in my great great granddaughters home in the far away future and I'd be considered as the cool family member from the olden days. Nice point of view, but as told me one day Jeremy ( Romanywg ), great photograph and passionate of art, never regret....
Kids ? I thought about them of course, but, we have to be realistic, it's our own pleasure, collecition, addiction, first.
I have made a little collection for them, for their future, and do you know what ? They told me, frankly, that they don't care and " won't have time to worry about my ( a ) art collection, even my own paintings - and they are right ..
They have enough things to care or to make at the moment ( or for their future ).. This world has definitely broke with patriarchy etc...
Kids of now ( apart if you are living in a Rothschild or a traditionnal, bourgeoise family ) have so much to do, with connected things, social media, enjoying the life, the music, mates, etc etc... that, well, it's ( for me ) an illusion to hope that they will care about this kind of " familial " heritage ( rather, cash or money, yes, as it does not take time ) .. And it's a job ! to sell, to flip, to continue a collection !
Why should our kids would be like us ? Art won't be their hobby maybe, surely, and more a burden than the last hyped thing, etc ( in fact we project our own past and family life on them, but we all know that the new generations make the contrary of what we have expected ) !
They are in another word, moving one, with a lot of changes to assume, or not.
Banksy talked one day ( can't remenber the quote ) that the great disease of our world was the Heritage...
Just, break the rules...
Pessimistic post ? I reckon, and a bit trolling too, sorry. Don't read it.

Just, break the rules...
Pessimistic post ? I reckon, and a bit trolling too, sorry. Don't read it.

Banksy Black Spray Can, Gross Domestic Product™, by That Print Guy on Sept 18, 2021 19:20:10 GMT 1, I think you will regret selling this, I know I would be livid if I had a momentary Laps of reason. would drive me nuts while looking at the place it used to be displayed.
