Banksy Welcome Mat, by Gentle Mental on Oct 17, 2019 13:14:10 GMT 1, i got one.
It's unlimited. No doubt.
But it doesn't depreciate in value regardless of edition size.
In fact, the value increases because the more sold the more meaningful and iconic and powerful it becomes.
It becomes a vote.
We all know what started Brexit and Twitter Trump.
This is a statement on where you stand.
Go buy one.

Banksy Welcome Mat, by kuni on Oct 17, 2019 13:51:44 GMT 1, I wouldn't be wanting to frame this or anything myself. Would look wierd. Itās not actually that weird an idea putting these on the wall as if you look at the welcome mats on the Love Welcomes website they even suggest displaying as a wall hanging: āWelcome your visitors with these stunning mats woven by refugee women, out of strips of life vest material and upcycled blanket fabric. One of the most unique mats on the market, you can display it as a wall hanging, floor mat or even use on a table.ā Iām looking forward to seeing what people do with them as it looks like some people already have some creative ideas.
Iām thinking about framing it much like I would a painting on wood. Probably a simple white box frame with minimal space between the frame and the welcome mat. Maybe 1/4ā. This will be perfect for the foyer when you walk in the front door.

Banksy Welcome Mat, by Hairbland on Oct 17, 2019 14:23:08 GMT 1, You cannot look beyond monetary value. You claim you want 'serious art chat' but you just want investment chat. A stand-out piece from the Gross Domestic Product exhibition for a very reasonable price, which massively benefits an important charity. It's "worth it" no matter how many are made, even if not in the narrow sense you mean. You seem not to like Banksy, yet you're obsessed with him. Clearly my comment is in regards to all those saying these are steals, and no pass at this price, and talking about them selling for 3k already on eBay. Yes if you buy it and enjoy it and have it for thirty years then surely worth it. Is that going to be you? I had the chance to buy in the first round and passed. Donāt act like you know my motivation. Sealioning again, eh? All the classic traits, including an over abundance of unnecessary words in your sentences. You have posted negative asinine comments in virtually every Banksy thread.

And those that went for other items arenāt all that positive about this item.
Typical forum.

Banksy Welcome Mat, by nobokov on Oct 17, 2019 14:36:03 GMT 1, I have a feeling that had the cause been to fund neo-nazi groups worldwide, they would have still sold out. People purchased because of Banksy and potential value, not the cause.

Banksy Welcome Mat, by drip on Oct 17, 2019 14:46:34 GMT 1, You could flip that statement though and easily imagine a lot of right-leaning, refugee-fearing, liberal-hating people grit their perfect teeth and purchase Banksy's artwork anyway, despite the artist's feelings/politics, subject matter or ultimate destination of their money.

Definitely not negative on the other items. Like all of them, except the shredded t-shirt and the animal heads, but in terms of pieces with art value (not financial value) Iād put this and the counting set at the top, because they sum up the main theme of the show. If Iād had my pick of anything Iād have gone counting set.

Banksy Welcome Mat, by Rsyok on Oct 17, 2019 15:53:28 GMT 1, You should rip up a section of floor then install it under plexi or glass so you can walk over it everyday. Congrats on your purchase. Ha that's an awesome idea, we only put the wood floor in last year though so doubt the wife will go for it! Ha even better route out the wood to fit some thick acrylic flush. Tell her it was part of Banksy's T&Cs

Banksy Welcome Mat, by alandavies on Oct 17, 2019 16:18:01 GMT 1, Hereās my 2 cents..
I bought the Mat. £500 for this felt a good deal..
1. Itās cool as fuvk 2. Itās a great cause 3. Unlimited or not itās a great financial buy. There are huge amounts of soup can posters in circulation and they are the same price. Soup can poster or hand made welcome Mat? No brainer! 4. More will come but they arenāt making these for the next 20 years! I think 2000 tops

Look, here I don't understand ! GDP said that they will answer if it's good, days after the sale, it means that he is selling this one without receiving it ? ( or the order confirmation ) ... sometimes its hard...

The mats are sold on a different site (the first lot of 500 are sold out) because they're made by a charity, not by GDP. They're a collaboration between Banksy and Love Welcomes. You didn't have to enter the lottery for them, you could just buy them. So this seller has a confirmed order (which may well get cancelled now, hopefully).
