Banksy Welcome Mat, by Pawel on Jan 12, 2023 11:05:44 GMT 1, I know that's silly but as an owner of one of these, for some reason, I was annoyed that they are selling for less than the soup cans end the tenners (ed of 100k+). Where do you see these heading price wise in the future? They are numbered but obviously no PC COA. I think some can’t get their head around the fact it’s a “doormat” (vs. A piece of paper 🤔)… not the easiest to frame but they display really nicely (lots of really great examples) and are a real statement piece with great meaning/discussion behind them. No idea really, but nothing too high. I love the fact these are actual doormats. The concept and the execution are great. My main concert it's their longevity.

Banksy Welcome Mat, by The Rat King on Jan 12, 2023 11:21:37 GMT 1, I suspect it’s done now Banksy did his bit to promote love welcomes , was never gonna last forever , they will move on and be bigger and stronger now thanks to him An amazing poignant work very very clever proper banksy These did hit higher prices to start with and can only see them moving back on that track , the box set on the other hand seems to go on forever so they should move in opposite directions

Banksy Welcome Mat, by zoomrider on Jan 12, 2023 12:17:51 GMT 1, aaaand price about to go up Yes many suspected these were “unlimited” and would go on and on… as mentioned looks like a run of no more than x/4000. If PC issued COAs on these as a numbered Banksy they’d likely be going for £5k minimum! 😄 Will surely be £1k minimum in the short term future like the Di faced tenners at least (10000s of those and not numbered!).
Btw, glad to see LoveWelcomes move on from the Banksy association. It’s great to see the range of products have expanded and a real force for good emerged in its own right. All the best to them! I’ll certainly remain a customer.

Either that or sellers are re-adjusting their price point!

Banksy Welcome Mat, by Runit on Jan 12, 2023 13:02:29 GMT 1, These were always an underrated work by Banksy which is odd considering they’re way more poignant than a poster of soup cans. They’re sculptural and look smart farmed, congrats to all of those who picked one up and have them on display.

Banksy Welcome Mat, by Dice on Jan 12, 2023 13:55:10 GMT 1, Bought one of these a month or so ago (through a member here, thanks). I love them. But does seem framing and even hanging is pretty annoying to say the least. Hope to get mine done soon and on the wall. They are really easy to frame. Just take it to a good framer

Banksy Welcome Mat, by nobokov on Jan 12, 2023 14:54:30 GMT 1, Even though they were for a good cause, they still look terrible and ridiculous on a wall. It's way too small to be functional as a doormat.
A doormat framed just screams "douche" if you have to explain to everyone why you have a doormat framed on a wall. I'm glad to have sold it years ago after feeling the regret of chasing Banksy fomo.

Banksy Welcome Mat, by orchid on Jan 12, 2023 15:06:32 GMT 1, These are great objects, no pc coa, but supply is finite now and the numbered GDP tag will add to the collectability. Won't be very long before these are several thousand a piece and supply dries up. A poignant piece that eloquently sums up the artist and the situation it represents is as pertinent as ever.

The key here is confirmation that it is effectively an edition.

Happy to have one as well, certainly one of the better Banksy pieces given the story attached.

Still it’s your opinion and we’re all entitled to one. I personally think it’s a great conversation piece… that perfectly explains to anyone why I would have a doormat on the wall!
Them: Why do you have a doormat on the wall?
Me: It’s by Banksy
Them: Wow!
Me: Now let me explain what it represents…
🙂

Banksy Welcome Mat, by The Italian One on Jan 12, 2023 15:59:12 GMT 1, as said when I first saw it that this is the most powerful GDP's piece. it was shown in front of the window. when they was available as buy now in the love welcome website for 500 I was so happy that I bought it immediately. Wish I bought it 2 at the time...
so powerful and meaningful (don't forget it is handmade by refuges with real used life vest) this sculpture has nothing to do with Banksy's Memorabilia (poster or d face tenner) and now that is known to be 4000 ed (600first ed +3400 others ed) it will only increase year after year.
just bought an other one for 1.1 k eu on Ebay... just hope the seller will ship it!

The day I received it, I looked it and thought about how ridiculous "art" collecting is and sold it at or near cost the same day.
This forum is all about pumping items for resale and it needed to resort to creating endless posts about this doormat to try and create value, where there is little. Trying to create value by touting a distinction between batches and labels is pretty laughable. And all of the talk about meaning feels pretentious to me, rich people trying to feel good about themselves by buying an item from a rich artist and saying it was for charity.
If it was about meaning and about the people, everyone would've been touting the organization and have continued to purchase $500 worth of goods on a monthly basis from them. This was just and continues to be an example of creating Banksy fomo for resale. It's obvious, but very few can admit it because of self-interest.
