BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by Terry Fuckwitt on May 26, 2020 10:23:02 GMT 1, I would also be interested in people opinions on a valuation of the clock. Not that I would ever sell, except in times of dire financial need I suppose. I have no idea what to do regarding getting it insured etc. Any other clock owners have any input?
I think you would be looking at around £25k-£30k with COA in today's money. £50k would be far too much imo. I love the clock, but I think prints/canvas will always be more sought after.

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by ratty224 on May 26, 2020 10:52:39 GMT 1, Hmm it’s interesting because the clock isn’t a ‘print’ but it’s essentially still a print fitted into a clock. I think the value will largely depend on the first sales as well as what happens to the other 100 out of the 150. Taking into consideration that it’s signed and finished by Banksy himself (I’ve enjoyed comparing the subtle difference of the rats), along with the uniqueness of GDP as an event, I would guess it would be worth more than other prints of a similar kind. In any case, it would be a shame to give away such a unique and meaningful piece.

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by Pootle on May 26, 2020 11:02:46 GMT 1, I have the contrary view - this is not a print and not a sculpture (as per glap86's view) and makes it hard to value.
I suspect if this was not a clock, but a signed, print ed 150 and hand-smudged (you could argue this is hand-finished)... then it would be worth more than the clock.
Interesting to see how the market evolves over the next few years

I think it's very hard to gauge a value at the moment. Anyone's opinion is just as valid, until they start to go through auctions. Didn't the first grappling hook only hammer at about £70k last year, which is a tiny edion of 26 and came in a hand stencilled box.

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by Deleted on May 26, 2020 13:42:50 GMT 1, I love the clocks
Not as good as the ones in the hotel though.
I'd have either though
Much more fun than a boring one dimensional paper print

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by Not 4 The Thril on May 26, 2020 14:30:47 GMT 1, i would argue that the clock would go for 50k+ at an auction. A relatively small edition of 150- signed and hand smudged with that hand sprayed box. Is the box considered a Banksy original?
i would love to see what the early learning counting set came in or is any of the other items were hand sprayed.

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by Not 4 The Thril on May 26, 2020 17:14:45 GMT 1, i have seen one of the rat clocks and boxes in the flesh. its awesome. i remember a while back seeing another banksy box from something he did. hand sprayed with the thrower and in it came some pins and tshirt. an old collab with someone. does anyone remember these? i think those were considered to be banksy originals.

I have seen them also. They were like pizza boxes. I recall seeing the box unfolded to make it flat and them framed. I can't recall what t-shirt it was. Not sure it is was the Griffin colab or not.

Welcome & congrats on the win, the can looked brilliant in the shop so have no doubt it will be cracking in hand. Do make sure to upload some photos when it arrives! Not a lot compared to opening that box from GDP, you won’t be disappointed.

What are you waiting on Fuzzy? It doesn’t take long after shipping, I think I had my delivery within 48 hours of the first email from FL from memory....

Thanks for that, had forgotten about it to be honest (realise its the cheaper-end @ £10) but it took me a while to decide what to go for, the signed spray can to me is what banksy is all about - to me, its like owning a signed paintbrush, used by picasso...

Completely agree, the best ‘autograph‘ you can get if you ask me. It’s also about the only paint can you could leave laying around the house without the Wife shouting for you to stick it in the shed. I look forward to the pictures
