BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by tab1 on May 19, 2020 6:48:33 GMT 1, The Basquiat is looking great! Has someone received the Goldfish? I am curious if someone was able to purchase it as when I was at the GDP website last year it was shown as coming soon. This has been probably super late but it is due to me being lockedout of my account. Here is a photo of the Early Learning Counting Set I got from GDP. <a href="https://ibb.co/pKVKKNZ"><img src="https://i.ibb.co/094991Z/ELCS.jpg" alt="ELCS" border="0"></a> looks great, congratulations , how much were these?

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by chefd on May 19, 2020 10:30:00 GMT 1, Fantastic piece and lucky you!!!
Hope you will find a nice spot to have it on show.
Looks like the Throwers are going to be the last out of the shop door in round 1. Surely cant be too far off now as things look to have been moving slowly in the background despite the CV-19 lockdown.

Congrats, they look brilliant! You’ll be forever dusting those, worth it though.

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by Deleted on May 19, 2020 12:13:16 GMT 1, ok...story/rant/advice needed time. I’ve posted this elsewhere as well as PM’d a few folks here but I’d like some additional insight. As a lucky winner of my first Banksy (and my first real piece of art!), I brought my Banksquiat to a reputable framed and paid a lot of money for the framing. I was originally quoted $1600 USD with half up front. Framer sent pics of completed work about a week ago and he took the liberty of cutting out the GDP instructions on the box and taping it to the back of the frame. Most folks seem to think it’s no big deal but a few members here took particular offense to this being done and I’m kind of lost. initially i was kind of just taken aback. did the framer think that i would be totally OK with that? honestly, dk what to think. Furthermore the total price was adjusted up $100. maybe that's what it cost to cut up the box. That's very weird that the framer cut out the instructions without asking, but they haven't done any damage to your work and I wouldn't be at all worried about that having any effect on value in the future (if that was a concern). The box is just a box. It's not a part of the art and while there are some people who are obsessive about collecting every single bit of packaging, that's not going to be common among the sort of people who'd buy a piece like this. I can't see a major auction house listing a Banksy with 'comes with all original packaging'. Nobody really cares.
The cost on your framing does seem very high, but if you went with the absolute top spec then can see it costing that. If you're happy that your framer uses all the correct methods and you're happy with the framing, then in the long run the cost won't matter that much. Congrats on the print!

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by The Italian One on May 19, 2020 13:30:53 GMT 1, I am curious as to what people think this kind of thing is worth on secondary market. Hard one to price i think? Brilliant piece, congratulations! being an edition of only 25 I can see the price in the range of 80-120 k, not sure it is the most sought after piece of the GDP collection.

I think it’s very difficult to even begin pricing the obscure items from GPD. People can’t even agree on a rough value of the Banksquiat and that’s a bread and butter print, the other upcycled household items in GPD could range massively in price from eachother. I’ve experienced this when trying to get my MetBall valued for insurance purposes, there’s nothing to base a value on for them apparently and I’ve heard other lucky winners on here struggle too for that exact reason (the Duck & Cover winner had his item valued at £100 for insurance purposes for example). Thankfully value doesn’t matter to me, I’m just happy to have it! It’s interesting to watch the speculation on the items though, especially the guy trying to make the Banksquiat value rocket haha.

if you can, please share pics of your frame up.

Find an insurance company that doesn’t need you to verify value. $100 is absurd.

In hindsight, it looks like a rat trying to outrun time. Very appropriate for current life. Is it called “China’s Gift”? 🤔

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by seamusdorey on May 20, 2020 10:31:06 GMT 1, A little late but here is my two pennies worth:
How many Warhol's do you see come to auction with collectors scrambling over it because it has original packaging? Of course it would have been customary for your framer to ask before cutting up the box, but I wouldn't lose any sleep over it, what's done is done.
Impossible to say, without specific details on materials, if your framing was good value. For example, did you ask them to guild the frame?
John Jones in London, now closed, quoted me £1,200 to frame a postcard sized work once. I wanted a very specific frame, with high value materials, so I could actually see where they were coming from. However, they were always renowned for their high prices, but you get what you pay for and if it's a high value artwork then you want a professional job. Nope, I didn't go through with the Jones frame. Even I could see that was excessive!
So, all in all, I would say if you are happy with the result, don't worry about the framing and rejoice in the fact that you were lucky enough to buy a GDP Banksquiat. Congratulations, enjoy your piece x

EDIT.. I see there hasn't been one but I don't remember the early learning center being available yet someone has received it

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by ratty224 on May 20, 2020 17:53:21 GMT 1, Still can't believe it....
Congratulations! Any chance you could give us a ballpark of the edition number? Curious if only 0-50 went out or not. Also would love to know how you or the other winner are going to get it framed/boxed besides the glass replacement, if at all.

I had contact with someone on Instagram who had a number in the mid 20s and has received the clock yesterday.
