back home after a few days away & the letter from parcel force is here - 80 odd quid charges!!
is it worth questioning this after checking with Brett what he declared the value at?

He puts $25 or $30 as the value.

So 80 quid seems rather high....

As divejedi suggests, that doesn’t seem right at all! Part of that will not doubt be some kind imaginary processing charge but I still can’t see how it’s come out even close to that.

custom vat duty £24.24
import vat £45.24
clearance fee £12.00
total £81.48

so is there an invoice inside the parcel they've looked at?

says you chant dispute them anyway, but can claim refunds later, so guess have to pay & see what comes through

Mine was delivered by Parcel Force yesterday… no invoice but I can’t think why? Embarrassment maybe…

Box was fucked but somehow the Stegosaurus survived. Can’t see me getting an invoice somehow. A letter inside the plastic bag they delivered it in said it arrived in this condition but I’m sceptical. Only for the fact that Brett packages them so well it’s not a write off.

Testament to Brett’s packing skills I guess but that’s still pretty shocking. Relieved to hear that it survived however.

It annoys me that courier companies, including ParcelForce, wont send proper invoices.  Basically, you have to try and guess and then pay up hoping you can get a refund later.  I don't know what Brett Kern puts as declaration of contents but there is no custom duty charges for artworks.  They are rated as zero so I don't know what that £24.24 is.  

P.S.  "custom VAT duty" is a nonsense phrase, anyway. It's either custom charges or VAT.  There's no such thing as "customs VAT" charge.

Well a cracking looking Styracosaurus (even if the hassle and fees were certainly somewhat undesirable). Slightly kicking myself now for not going for a green or yellow dino so next time I think I’ll focus in on one of these colours. Loving the staging of the photos in the recent shares. 👏

Dino 4 has joined the herd. This one took a lot longer to arrive but still no taxes or fees and arrived safely. Having been after one of these for a while, I’m delighted to have got my hands on one. They really are fantastically weird dinosaurs and I think Brett captured them perfectly.

Mine arrived this week as well. Purple one.

They are smaller then I expected, but very cute.  
It's the same height as a T-Rex, but smaller head and body.

I'll take a family pic when my flyer has arrived.

😂 We had some real grass, this is the replacement for it. Tried all manner of drainage solutions but the bottom third of the garden stayed perpetually boggy which is really no use/fun for two young children. Had I not had to buy the artificial grass then I’d have a LOT more dinosaurs/art. 😂

Yeah, they’re a bit thinner than I though they might be but I do think it’s a cool addition to the collection. Looking forward to your pics when your Pterodactyl arrives. How many does that take you up to now?

Elderly Labrador that pees 20 times a day and clay soil here; artificial grass was a no-brainer as you can hose it down and spray it with stuff that makes it smell nice. Would never go back!
