We had a betamax also. Seemingly was better quality than VHS but cost and recording length won out. I remember that we had a very poor selection of tapes and the movies were years old before we could get them in Ireland.

 I do not think it is realistically possible to define alpha or beta male.

 To me it all depends on circumstance and environment.

 Personalities change depending on what's in front of them and plenty of men turn into so called alpha males as soon as they put on a police or similar uniform or enter the office etc where they are in a position above other employees.

  Al Pacino in Scarface was an alpha male to many when in reality he was weak minded and it was the cocaine creating his behaviour.
