I disagree. While I love the street pieces that these guys do, Sweettoof is clearly going in a different direction with the pieces on canvas as several recent shows have demonstrated. This is also emphasised by the use of his real name for many of these other shows. I would love to get hold of a tasty little oil on canvas, but what I would REALLY love is some of those teeth on wood!

as far as formal qualifications go I think many of the crew are over qualified and generally considerd to be serious painters by many, cyclops having just been accepted by the rca for his masters and sweet toof a postgraduate diploma in painting from the royal academy schools. how much more do you need before you can be considered a serious painter?!!

have to agree, the painted works are simply immense and when you see the how good their street work and their canvas/ all other stuff they do its just amazing. i don't know of any others who are so prolific with their street work either.
will hopefully be able to pop by and have a butchers

missed stopki's comment from earlier and i have to agree with the previous few responses. while i agree, their street work is second to none, their work on canvas is also of a very good. if in doubt head over to the show to check out the pieces and maybe ask the gallery the background to them.

eddie mentioned sweet toof and cyclops but also dont forget tek33. his work is also at a very high standard!

cheers, when i was there on saturday the list wasnt finalised. they only finished putting it together the night before. it certainly took some dedication to get it all sorted!

i would have thought the majority of it will sell, its great and unique original work which is fairly priced compared to recent prints etc
