I’m not trying to be smart or anything. I literally don’t know. My gut says the Tate version is fake. But I’m not an expert like many of the folks on here.

Im by no means a toof expert, but he aint the kind of artist you’d create fakes of. His work is highly accessible and anyone who wants one can pick one up fairly easily.

He adds a lot of personal touches to pieces so the wax could easily be from him. But i have no idea.

Looking at the teeth, I think the tate one maybe has more hand finishing so it may be two different sets of AP’s a “printing AP” and a “hand finished AP”.

That’s an interesting concept I hadn’t considered that or even heard of multiple sets of AP’s of hand painted multiples of the same print. Not on a print that has one release anyway. I know it’s common when you have further editions.

No, cant think of any. You might end up with Printers Proofs and Artists Proofs, but not two sets of APs. But as someone else said, it wouldnt be a big issue to these guys to accidentally number two editions the same.

I have contacted Frankie who published these via Camp Barbosa
The piece we sold came with a coa issued by Moniker Projects as the consigner had requested a coa and Frankie was no longer issuing Camp Barbosa coa’s.

We take matters of authenticity seriously and always welcome open discussion on provenance.

Interested to hear from Sweet Tooth himself on this, hopefully it confirms what I’ve been already been told.

I was just curious. How different they seem to be is what peaks my curiosity most. The one had an impression of what appears to be by a gallery and the other has like a midevil wax stamp of approval on it. Then ST signs them differently too. It just has me puzzled.

I’m very curious to see what zero turns up when he talks to SweetToof.
