what i don't understand is why exhibited work by Elms is consistently 40-50% higher then comparable work from the same artist at other galleries here in the states? Yes they are extremely helpful, great service and all the rest but at such crazy prices I don't get.

went down earlier and there unsurprisingly lots of wk left with prices like that.

anthony lister was extremely reasonable - £1,050 for the smaller canvases. great show tho and really nice guys. wk seemed a bit pissed he was invited to cans tho

thats cracking within the spraypaint he's used. This is usally caused by differing drying times of the spraypaint often when using different brands of paint together as the solvent within evaporates at different rates. Too much spraypaint applied to a surface can also can cause this as again the sovents cant evaporate quickly and evenly.

Also it can be caused by the priming medium used as temperature /moisture changes causes the tightness of the canvas to change and if a medium such as emulsion is used it's far less flexible than something like latex or acrylics so more prone to crack formation.

Managed to get round this one as well today ;D Plus had a chat with the man himself Really nice bloke.

it can be repaired through various methods but if done by someone not skilled in dealing with this type of repair theres a large chance of causing a lot more damage in the process as the spraypaint needs to be removed and reapplied to fix it. Putting more paint over the top will likely result in the cracks reappearing like building on dodgy foundations.

I think you're better off leaving it as it's only minor cosmetic and in some ways adds character to the piece. I'd be careful not to expose it to furhter dramatic heat changes in order to avoid further cracking.
