Who is ted patrick?, by brycepen on Nov 27, 2020 15:04:54 GMT 1, think they shipped framed like in the pics? No not framed, hope not anyway If the print comes in the frame as pictured, why on earth wouldnโt you want that? It looks like a carved wood chippendale style frame, which IMO, is worth a hell of a lot more that some plain float mount โmodernโ piece of painted plywood.
you can easily change the frame to a more desirable and appropriately stylish color by using high gloss spray paint, and maybe add a coat of high gloss polyurethane using an larger artist sable brush for an added sheen. Thatโs what I would do. Costs about $15-20 and takes 20-30 minutes.
or you can go spend more on custom framing the piece than the piece even costs. I guess thatโs what most other people do.

I suppose you would have to have my particularly thorough understanding of the history of furniture styles, woodworking, and, particularly the significance of French recoco style on subsequent eras of design to appreciate it.
And most people find that knowledge thoroughly boring. But I would at least reconsider your opinion; Iโm seeing a lot of modern interior design move away from minimalist straight lines and the mid century modern aesthetic which has been so trendy for the past few decades. And I am see the reversion to more ornate styles in new products. This framing style will become trendy within 2-3 years.

Its a n00b framing trap Not with an ikea bookshelf You seem to know a lot about art. Museums have a lot of woodworking and furniture pieces too. Theyโre very famous. If you have ever been to any European palace or residence belonging to aristocracy, youโll see a lot of ornate furniture. Thereโs a reason for that, and it isnโt because they canโt afford to update their couches.
please do not take offense by this at all, especially since Iโm barely middle class and Iโm sure you are far wealthier than I am, but if someone made a comment like that in front of the real elitist snobs, theyโd sound like โnew moneyโ and lacking in refinement/taste. Just a heads up.

I don't think he's trying to mock anything. And if he is, for a few quid then that would be a bit dumb if you want people to continue buying the work.
