Heritage Auctions πΊπ², by Heritage Urban on Apr 2, 2020 20:53:29 GMT 1, Dear all,
We wanted to formally start a thread here. We have worked with many collectors who use this forum with both buying and selling and we want to let you know we are here to help if you need us. Nothing is more important than the health, safety, and wellbeing of our clients, and friends. While the world confronts uncertainty related to the threat of COVID-19, we are committed to strengthen bidder and consignor relationships by providing answers to your questions, updated information as circumstances evolve, to discuss your concerns, and to respond to your needs.
It's a challenging time for many of us but for those interested in selling, we are always offering generous cash advances for those who require it and discounted seller's fees. We have advanced or lent our clients over $30 million during the past 2 week across the majority for our categories.
For those who are buying, we have seen an uptick in private sale requests, and our auctions are open and bidding continues to be strong. The current online auction can be viewed here.
Following the success of our March 23rd auction, we are also gearing up for our Signature Urban Art Auction taking place on June 23 and accepting consignments until May 1st and a smaller Urban Online Sale on June 4th with a deadline of April 30.
We have secured important works by Invader, Futura, KAWS and many others. We are happy to arrange collection or provide pre-paid labels if applicable.
Please feel free to PM directly or email at TaylorC@HA.com for those who are interested in discussing further.
The rapidly changing circumstances related to COVID-19 and its impact on the financial market have given rise to uncertain times, but we are eager to be a source of strength, support, and security to our clients, staff, and friends.
Thank you and stay safe.

Agreed, I've been working with him on my first consignment, several pieces coming up over the next couple auctions. Was an easier and more straightforward process than anticipated.

You're right though, it's a very vinyl heavy auction
Lots of pieces haven't come up in a few months like the KAWS Pinocchio ...

We had some logistical issues since the work was located in our NYC office which has been closed since early March.

Heritage Auctions πΊπ², by LJCal on May 17, 2020 15:51:41 GMT 1, Hi All Have any members bought through Heritage Auctions in Dallas? Iβm looking at bidding on a Nara poster in their next auction and just wanted to some comfort on them. They seem to be a fairly decent outfit with a long history but wondered how good they are at weeding out fakes. This poster has been widely faked so Iβm nervous about buying without being able to inspect in person or unless the seller is super reliable. Thanks in advance.

Very good experiences with them as an auction house in general. I can't answer if they have the finite expertise to weed out fakes such as these though but the staff are very accessible and will help if you reach out. Happy to assist with more info, contacts and experiences with them if you want to PM. Best!

Heritage Auctions πΊπ², by jluhiex on May 17, 2020 21:04:05 GMT 1, They have sold fake kaws (karimoku and nfc sorayama) along with bearbricks. If there is any sort of provenance it's always "private seller" or "it came from a very trusted seller".
With that being said, they did refund me for the fake but the process took a few months. With anything under 5k is the director/specialist/head of/expert really going to take the time to go through 1000's of kaws, bearbrick, nara posters, ephermera? Especially with urban/street art the experts are on the forums...although most have left from the bickering and thirsty nature of this game.

Had a slight issue with them which was easily resolved and they offered shipping US-UK on a quite expensive OG
They seem quite new to Urban so might not be as knowledgeable as more seasoned teams when good fakes exist ?

I see Heritage pop up all the time when there are Hirst Valiums & LSD up for grabs..... Iβve twice sent off photographs for authenticity only to be told to avoid purchase due to counterfeit reasoning. Heritage were notified of the findings but still continued with their sale. Not what one would hope for from an auction house when faced with verified advice.
