Visit MELBOURNE ๐ฆ๐บ Australia Street Art, Galleries, Events, by wottagunn on Jul 15, 2019 0:47:00 GMT 1, Hallelujah! Haha.. care to kick off the introductions mate? I live out in the country in Vic. Been in to art for about 7 years now I think, started with gig posters and has worked its way to street art stuff mainly. Bit of a Pejac fan, have a few pieces of his, as well as Phlegm stuff and a few others. Went nuts buying stuff when I first started collecting but have since sold most of it off - im far more selective now and really only purchase to frame. No point having stuff in the flatfile in my opinion. Was all set to buy my first Banksy about a year ago but ended up building a house with my wife, since then ive sunk most of my spare cash in to projects at home, so art has been on the backburners for a bit.

Visit MELBOURNE ๐ฆ๐บ Australia Street Art, Galleries, Events, by Fan Of Art on Jul 17, 2019 8:52:54 GMT 1, Hello! Another POM here aha, been here in Australia for 5 years now 2 being in Melbourne and the remaining time in little old Adelaide. Fairly similar scenario as wottagunn in the sense that I had a huge change that needed a lot of $$ and that was moving to Australia. it was a big job and I had to regrettably let the fair majority of my collection go as it just wasn't viable to bring it all over plus I needed the $$, so here I am 4 years into rebuilding my collection. Been a little tricky for me out here as I've not managed to meet many collectors who have similar interests (other than those shitty POPS that everybody for some reason is collecting(no hate)). Glad that we now have a forum set up where it's just Aussie collectors and will possibly get to meet and talk to some quality people who have similar interests. Also added bonus too that maybe shipping won't cost almost as much as the potential purchase haha.

I'm on the GC myself (Another Queenslander). Collect a mix of artists, including Kaws, Ron English, Sorayama, Mark Whalen (my new fav), RTC and Paul Insect. Have a big mix between wall art and designer toys (toys are probably more my passion but love em' both). Also a huge fan of Eric Pause, and am lucky enough to own a huge original painting by him. Anyone planning on spending some time in Melbourne for the Kaws exhibition?

Visit MELBOURNE ๐ฆ๐บ Australia Street Art, Galleries, Events, by Daniel Silk on Jul 18, 2019 0:30:50 GMT 1, Hey guys, would love there to be a page purely for Aussie collectors. As of late, I've been finding purchasing, trading and selling extremely hard to do from the land down under, as everything is so expensive to ship, and our dollar is f*cked to put it nicely. Would love to try create a thread full of Aussie collectors, where we can talk shop, trade, sell, discuss art, etc etc. Any fellow Aussies wanna chime in, and get this thread going? Even just start it off as a meet and greet, and just introduce yourself - who you are, where you're based, and what you collect.. Nice idea, well done ๐ Maybe we can sort out some type of member groups based on what part of the world people are in. I will have a think and see whatโs possible ๐

I collect a bit of Ben Frost (know they're both pretty close friends), but waiting on that right lister piece. Actually hoping for something Marvel/Super hero inspired

Would be nice to do some Aussie deals. And catch up for the occasional beer / exhibition like the good old first Thursday days in London.

Hi all, there was once a dedicated site for Aussie collectors but it got no traction and didn't last too long, i did manage to pick up a NOLA for a bargain price compared to today prices just after release, It was hand to hand deal in pitt street
Also sydney based, been here for a few years now collecting and selling. I went to the "culture is Dead" show, was pretty crazy in the beginning absolutely rammed, hung out for an hour or so the Big canvases were amazing, managed to pick up my first OG lister canvas not massive but it was the pick of the bunch for me, so well happy. Man i have some great memories of the cross. Now it and Sydney is a granny state with new laws and closing times. A good friend owned a little club โTonicโ and my best pal djโd there from 2003-2009ish, he didnโt miss a Saturday night. Kings cross was a mad place, canโt remember the name of the club the one with the iron gates? Need a password to get in? Went to a birthday party once, mad mad night...

Iโve been on UAA forever and was briefly part of the Aussie Collectors forum as well. Would definitely be interested in chatting/ catching up.

Visit MELBOURNE ๐ฆ๐บ Australia Street Art, Galleries, Events, by The Blind Kid on Jul 24, 2019 2:39:35 GMT 1, Some cool showings for the Sydney siders.. "The Art of Banksy" is coming to town, opening Sep 13 - looks like it's just a bunch of artworks sourced from private collectors (so not by Banksy himself), but would be cool to see none the less

Visit MELBOURNE ๐ฆ๐บ Australia Street Art, Galleries, Events, by irl1 on Feb 8, 2020 16:25:02 GMT 1, Hey guys, would love there to be a page purely for Aussie collectors. Not too many of these for sale down under
