I was talking to this chap at the LSG and of course there will be loads of SBFO on ebay, but I really think that (though it is a serious piss take at this stage) if you REALLY want it to bite the bullet early as look at the price of the signed LV Child. What if SBFO heads the same way (which it prob will), then people will be f**ked! If I miss out on a Banksy for example I try and get on off ebay within the first few days as without doubt the b**ches treble in price within weeks. Just my opinion! What do you guys think? Its a b**ch but I think I have a point! Plus, i doubt that 125 were sold yesterday as I was 16th in and got a print in the 70's. So expect these beuts to dry up quicker than a nun!

your right re the prices - first one or two always hit ebay and go for a load , then they tail off - pure supply and demand.

When things settle down the prices always shoot up again .

I got the impression the gallery weren't that interested, the details were for their mailing list and it all felt like a shopping trip only redeemed by some good company whilst waiting.

Its a b**ch for sure, but if I miss Festival then f**k it I would rather spunk 2500 than 4500 in a matter of weeks! Its crazy what beejoir has achieved so early. If he has a show coming up then all the unlucky punters will be well f**ked if its a case of really wanting a SBFO. I think maybe 900 will be a steal in a few weeks time. Think JD by Micallef! Crazy price hike (worth it for sure) but again I would take 600 over 2000 anyday! Obviously I was VERY lucky and overjoyed to get one (well not for me) but Im sure that I would be chasing it right now on fleebay if I was less lucky. My advice if you REALLY, REALLY want one get one now, cause it will save you a good 1000 in a few weeks (speculation) for a Banksy! Ha

I agree, I should have said something, I kept looking down the queue (tall guy green Barbour coat) and had in my mind that more or less everyone should be able to get one,
only to be shocked, when I was told my edition number, which was higher than 110 .

I might be over reacting a bit and some people might just say to me "shut up mate you got your print", but I get the feeling that this man, basically used his wife and daughter to "STEAL", two extra prints for himself, that could have went to genuine fans of Beejoir's work.

Was there not a similar story from the Dface print release of a guy with two girls buying prints ?

i think someone questioned them and it then kicked off.

Flippers and baggers have been a hot topic in this forum lately, some for, some against.

I saw it in full effect today and I have to say it was nasty....

Expect to see quite a few of these prints up on Ebay fairly soon

as someone who has stuck up for one or two aspects of the flipper, it makes me feel truly ashamed to read your post. You see what i dont have a problem with is someone who wants an unsigned banksy (for instance) but has no real spare money, so he goes and gets a SBFO, sells it and get his unsigned napalm or whatever. Although im not 100% defending that behaviour, im just saying that at lease that person is an art fan.

But i have seen, on a couple of occasions this thing happen where you get one person in line who is obviously the ring leader and 3 or 4 friends/family members/drunks from the street! to get prints too, and you just know that their intention is not to keep any of them, they have no interest in the print at all, they just want to make money and then the folks at the back of the queue and up paying £800 instead of £125. It really is sickening

The best way to sell the prints really is straight to the people who spend the most of their time talking about the art and related subject matter.

Let's say you are F5'ing on the POW website and you happen to stumble across the new banksy being released. After you've bought one for yourself do you not tell all your mates/family? Some of them may love art but some of them may have "impure" reasons for buying the print. I have a mate who is skint and is trying to bring up two kids on very little money at all. I'm pretty sure that if this hypothetical situation arose I would want to help her out.

I have been thinking of how to help a friend, who has been more than generous to me. If offered the opportunity to do it, I would, but not at the expense of others.

If you manage to bag a banksy all thoughts of anyone Else's wellbeing go out the window as you fly around the room punching the air! This lasts about half an hour by then the rest of the edition is well and truly SOLD OUT.

but then what if you've never bought from him? not the best business sense but makes loyal buyers all the more loyal, not sure if i agree with it though. an open market is the fairest way and the most democratic, nothing is perfect though.

Agreed LW. I think priority should be given to Liverpool supporters with questionable hairlines. Seems fair enough.
