I like this guy's work a lot but I really can't justify spending that sort of money on one of his prints.
Although, having said that, if I was a rich b*st*rd I would snap one up without hesitation.

I recently got the Matsuyama print, and it said 4-6 weeks for delivery. Today I received an email that the framed print is already on its way to me! 2 weeks from date of order, very impressed Curtis.

Can't wait to see this baby and wish I could swing for the peonies.

I’m not sure where you get this information from, seems pretty subjective to me. He has exhibitions running in Florence and at the Guggenheim Bilbao and his most recent auction results pretty much all went significantly above estimate - some of them even 100-150% (see artsy auction results).

Imho, there are only a handful of more attractive Chinese Artists, who are unattainable at such a price point.

He has non chinese institutional support. Like a lot of it.

In terms of the market, you are right,he isnt anywhere up there like his contemporaries.

Well done on the sell out though. For the price, it took guts to pull the trigger.

I think it can be about both. Lets be honest no one wants to spend the best part of 5k euros and it be worth 1k. If a Billionaire drops a £50 note on the floor, he picks it up.

Wait you actually get to own the actual paper artwork if you buy this? I thought it was like a stock, and this image was just a representation of your investment. Like a company logo.

I bought the tomokazu, and the packing job was impeckable (I know people had a few issues with framing). This looks like an incredible packing job as well, much preferred to a rolled up piece of paper slammed into a shipping tube.
