We are proud to announce the launch of Urban Art Space, a site dedicated to the buying, selling and trading of street and urban art in a secure environment using our free escrow service powered by Mangopay.



To celebrate the launch of our new website, URBAN ART SPACE, we are giving away many prizes, many donated by artists or galleries.



All you have to do is visit the website at www.urbanartspace.co.uk and register as a member. Registration is free and will only take a few minutes.

The draw will take place at 15.00 (UK time) on 25 December 2018 and will take place using a random number generator in the order of the registration. Only one registration per person.

You must be 18 years of age or over to enter, and winners will be announced by email on 26 December 2018 and prizes posted during the first week of the new year.

It might be worth clarifying this statement:

“If your art does not arrive, or you are not happy with it, your monies are returned to you without any waiting or hassle.”

...which sounds potentially worrying for the seller.

I’m guessing that’s not quite how it works, so might be worth expanding on how the escrow service handles disputes.

Our escrow service is very straightforward. it works like this:

"Using our escrow service you can either pay by credit or debit card and your money goes to a secure escrow account, where it remains safely until you have the art in your hands.

The Urban Art Space team is always available to help ensure your purchase runs smoothly.

In the unlikely event that there is a dispute in the transaction, we will involve an independent qualified Solicitor Mediator to help resolve the issue."

Just one further point to the question raised. It is important to describe the art as accurately as possible and provide additional information about the same. We suggest that high resolutions photographs are used as the best way to show the art to reduce the possibility of any future disputes.

Do you have to add art to trade in order to see what is available to trade or is there another way to access to see what is available? Or is there just currently nothing available yet?

Thank you for your enquiry.
At the moment there is no art listed for trade.
But you can add art that you wish to trade as a listing and anyone that visits the site can decide whether they have art they wish to trade with you and contact you via our messaging system.
The art you list will show as "TRADE" instead of "BUY"

Yes, the escrow service is free to use and is powered by a third party, Mangopay.

Mangopay work with crowdfunders, Chrono24 and Vinted and others. You can find further information at www.mangopay.com

We are an online portal similar to eBay, but obviously much smaller and cheaper.
The only thing we charge for is for any photos listed. You can post free of charge without any photos.
We appreciate that the prizes offered, many by donation may not be to everyone's taste.
The art that will be posted, will be by sellers or artists who want to sell their work so the art available will be dependent on what people want to sell.
Yes the site is secure and hosted by a dedicated server and independently tested.
Mangopay is PCI DSS compliant. Further details about them can be found at www.mangopay.com

For privacy and data protection reasons we are not at liberty to divulge who is selling the art.
We do not receive any money from the artist or the art that is sold by them.
No the site is not hosted on a cloud, nor do we have "vanilla" hosting security.
Mangopay operates the escrow service and we have provided their website details.
Any disputes that arise are free and details are set out on our website as to who and how this is conducted.

We have tried to be as helpful as possible.

We were required to follow all compliance protocols with Mangopay before the site was launched and we were approved to use their service. This can be checked with them.

We are not sure organisations like eBay, Urban Art Association or Catawiki would provide the other technical details you have requested. If they do, we will obviously follow suit.
