Julian Opie Limited Edition Catalogue and Lenticular Release, by DrWhite on Jan 2, 2019 13:13:12 GMT 1, Anyone have info on spec / framer typically used / recommended by the artist for lenticulars? I understand framers preference is aluminium tray frame to the edge but would be good to know the specifics. I have contacted the Opie studio direct but no response.
Did you decide to go with darbyshires / aluminium frame on this ?

I still haven't had the chance to get over to Darbyshires but plan on taking a few bits in, in a couple of weeks.
Still planning on going for an aluminium frame without glass - only issue I may try and track down a less bespoke alternative as I've had one alu frame from them before that was custom welded, and although much larger than this, was not cheap (close to £1000). Will let you know how I get on though.
Are you thinking of darbyshires / alu too?

I think it’s the book - signed / numbered ed50 - or it was for me anyway I think there will be a lot more postcards. These were launched as a “limited edition” - Opie is all about the movement- some of his recent animated running pieces are superb - and expensive I imagine 😬

The postcards are made in the hundreds or thousands versus this limited edition with accompanying signed / numbered book.

Julian Opie Limited Edition Catalogue and Lenticular Release, by DrWhite on Feb 28, 2019 12:42:42 GMT 1, Went with this white aluminium frame white mount - the lenticular is held in place in a “well” cut into a piece of mount board - then the inner mount covers the edge of the print - pretty ingenious for such a thick piece - needs no adhesive or tape etc
