For its second Pop-up Show, Happy Gallery is pleased to welcome five artists from the street-art movement in a brand new space in the heart of the Marais:
Speedy Graphito, Jef Aerosol, ChrisRWK, PEZ (Fr) and The London Police
Visitors will have the opportunity to discover or rediscover the works of pioneers of urban art like Speedy Graphito but also the work of the French artist PEZ, rarely exhibited in France.

Anybody knows why he decided to go tryptich on it? Curious why he went that route instead of keeping it one square piece like the OG. It doesn't add anything doing so imo and it makes it a little more of a hassle to hang. Also, are these skate decks or just shaped like skate decks, but without the curvy ends?

They are skate decks, I would have pulled the trigger if this had been a print

I don't know.. skate decks have a purpose and it is to be skateboarded on. They traditionally have images/art on their back to embellish them, but it is gimmicky to purposely transform their usage imo. If you want to create art to hang in a living space you'll use flat wood panels. The only obvious reason to use skate decks is to actually create skate decks, not to facilitate hanging through truck holes. Who would drill holes in a wood panel to facilitate hanging anyway.. I would totally understand a passionate of the skateboard culture who practices or practiced the sport to hang skate decks in his living space, but let's not kid ourselves, it's a little gimmicky otherwise. Not that they wouldn't look great though, I'll give you that. I'd be curious to hear PEZ on the matter.. I'm sure he knows none of these will ever see the street, so why the need for curvy ends and holes in them? Just use flat wood panels.. Also, if you want to treat them like art and not skate decks, you would probably need UV protection anyway..
