I just spoke to Jealous Gallery and here is what they said. The edition has now been deemed as 'open', signed but not numbered. I asked why it was stated as an edition of 25 on the website post the art car boot fair, when they were popping up on the website. The lady i spoke to said that it didn't say edition of 25. I told her 100% it did say that on the website and that everyone who bought at the art car boot fair was under that impression also. The lady told me that 25 were produced for the fair of each colour but more would likely to be produced.
She told me that the decision was from Chris Levine and the gallery director Louise.


I told what i thought - i said I think they have decided to print more because they are very popular.


Basically it now means this.............. they can print as many as they like and sell as many as they want. The gallery directors name is Louise and you can email her on [e-mail]

I told the lady that I would probably ask for a refund unless it was confirmed how many there would be. She told me i could only ask for a refund within 7 days of purchase. I explained that there was mis-information.

Anyway, please feel free to contact them.............They were nice enough with me, however i am 100% it said it was an edition of 25 each colour.

It's not a good move by the gallery to change a limited edition to open, after the fact. But since it was a small edition size, likely the number affected wouldnt have a huge negative effect on the gallery, if those customers never returned. Collateral damage in the hopes for additional sales, but I think it would hurt their reputation if the news were to spread.

Someone has definitely changed it. I thought it was a bit strange that they were not individually numbered to start with but to move the goalposts like this is strange when it states an open edition to be sold out.

Jealous have been known to be pretty lax when it comes to vague editions and reprints...

God knows how many AP's there are of their Baker prints, probably more than the standard run

If they wanted to make more money/satisfy demand, the logical thing to do would have been to release a new colourway(s) as an open edition.

I could have sworn the Jealous website originally had them listed as (albeit unnumbered) editions of 25.

I cannot prove it but they were definitely sold on the basis of 8 coloured variants with 25 in each edition.

Apart from the information being wrong, you have a cooling off period of 14 days "after" you receive the items. She is wrong with that 7 day thing.

Also when i ordered online it said an edition of 25 each

I spoke to Dario on the stand and was told that these were an edition of 28 - they had 25 available of each colourway available and the artist had kept three.

Agreed. It was clearly stated on the site and on the day that these were an edition of 25. Enough said.
I think Jealous will lose a lot of respect over this.

They have clearly changed the goal posts and misinformed their customers.

You should have no problem with getting a refund.
