Sandra Chevier Sculpture Release , by Flashback on Aug 24, 2018 16:25:38 GMT 1, Also a Chevrier fan, but as someone who collected art toys/sculptures for over 10 years, this looks terrible. Not sure who is making these, but the detail on the face is God awful especially the weird nose someone posted above. I do believe that there are plenty of companies out there that could make this work, but it just doesn't in its current form. Think I saw them on Mighty Jaxx's IG story.

Sandra Chevier Sculpture Release , by chevyav53 on Aug 24, 2018 16:30:40 GMT 1, Those closeups are great. I did not see these on Mighty Jaxx, been all about Elmo and the Popek recently...
But with that quality has to be a joke or as someone mentioned just looking for a quick buck made in a cheap factory.

Sandra Chevier Sculpture Release , by Deleted on Aug 24, 2018 16:32:06 GMT 1, This is so bad.
I really shouldnt laugh
This is the stage people get to when they believe their own hype
Its so fantastically s**t.
Imagine it at home. Hahaha.
If i saw it in someones house
what the f**k is that?
its an artist called sandra, she does prints of womens faces covered in ripped up comic books.
why?
Not a clue but people buy them and say that it's good, i think its a young persons market, not for old c**t like me. Anyhow someone thought it might be an idea to do a 3D sculpture of a womens face covered in ripped up bits of comics
why?
Because she thinks its a good idea and everyone in instagram when they see it says its fantastic, and she believes them and when they sell out she will do more and make lots of money
Fair enough. It really does look awful though, doesn't it? Bet you were gutted when it arrived? did the pictures of it look better?
No, not really, they looked pretty s**t too. Wanna buy it?
Sure, why not, It will go well with the rest of my s**t

Sandra Chevier Sculpture Release , by rambo901 on Aug 24, 2018 16:39:54 GMT 1, Sums up this release... My god 50p toys made in China look better
Just flicked through this thread - had seen the pics on her Insta but didn't properly look at the detail. No offence GMA but saw you'd started playing around with this stuff and thought it was your effort and was going to say good job. But this for a professional artist of her quality is god awful. I don't know why she would let this be sold under her name/reputation.
I would definitely agree irl - grab a 50p China toy and put it on the mantelpiece with pride knowing you've saved hundreds of dollars. Assuming these will be $800+?

Sandra Chevier Sculpture Release , by papirflyene on Aug 24, 2018 16:40:43 GMT 1, This is most certainly a statment saying she´s not an artist but a decorator. It´s what we Norwegians call "pynt", and has no use except from standing on a shelf or in a window for a year, then move to the childrens room for eventually ending up in the basement. Not impressed.

Sandra Chevier Sculpture Release , by dojothedog on Aug 24, 2018 16:55:15 GMT 1, I get that you may not like it but your point about people liking it and then buying it which will mean she will do more...... Yeah thats how most business models work, be it art or anything else. You soon know if something doesn't work when it doesn't sell.

Sandra Chevier Sculpture Release , by tranito on Aug 24, 2018 17:02:13 GMT 1, The bust looks good, it's really some of the details on the face that came out bad. These should have been hand painted by Sandra. Smaller runs. More expensive. Could have looked great.

Sandra Chevier Sculpture Release , by inknart on Aug 24, 2018 17:04:25 GMT 1, This looks horrible, haha. Why not just make it digital instead of hand carving that monstrosity. I would have jumped if it was actually a clean image.

You may be right, but I would be amazed if Mighty Jaxx put this out. While not the best, they do generally put out a good product. Unless these are prototypes and they're doing some significant improvements. Based on the number of pics released though, I doubt that's the case.

I think it'll sell out regardless (unless the price is insane) because people will no doubt try and flip them, but I don't think they'll have much success.

Price will be insane, i'm almost positive she is thinking this is a grand slam. I really think this looks terrible.
It looks like a bootleg straight form artist.

Sandra Chevier Sculpture Release , by moron on Aug 24, 2018 22:53:59 GMT 1, It's certainly very starck. In some ways the starckness and simplicity works and in others it doesn't.
It reminds me a bit of Dali's White eagle bronze.

Rather than a Wemyss cat.

I’d say this is a perfect example of “an artist of her quality”. She can’t paint for toffee, so no reason this tat should be any better.
I would slightly disagree on her ability to paint. Most of her originals are quality *this work isn't helping any arguement* - I do think she's milked the whole let's throw comics on a woman's face thing and each release IMO seems to be a little more of a let down than the last.
