Banksy CND Soldiers Print, by Guaanie on Sept 29, 2015 15:31:30 GMT 1, Slight detour but a quick question regarding the early prints... They all seem to be pretty 'blocky' and almost low-resolution. Does anyone know why this is? What was process that produced that look? It's evident in the detail above and very evident in my Toxic Mary (I know it's print divides opinion but I love the rawness of it).

Banksy CND Soldiers Print, by Deleted on Sept 29, 2015 16:05:51 GMT 1, Thanks for pointing this out I'd never noticed it before. Makes me wonder what other little details I've missed. CND will probably be my next Banksy if I can find one

Well my Love Rat which may be my favourite print in terms of the graphic quality doesn't seem blocky when I look at it closely unless you mean that the image is made up of lines which are stencil-cut....that's one of it's attractions....the simplicity of the line, exactness of the image and the depth of the black and red.
Its one of the best transitions of stencil to print I've seen.

Banksy CND Soldiers Print, by coller on Sept 29, 2015 16:28:29 GMT 1, I am ashamed to say that I had never spotted the tag on the paint can either. Thank you for pointing it out. Pleasure, coach! Feeling vindicated after posting something that's even new for you; that's a first.

To be honest, the pixelation shown in the picture of the paint can is only noticeable if you stare closely at the can, which is a small area of the print. When looking at he print as a whole, it really isn't noticeable. I believe it is alittle more noticeable on one or two early prints such as TM and CWSB. But I am happy to be told that this is wrong.

Banksy CND Soldiers Print, by Black Apple Art on Sept 29, 2015 18:55:32 GMT 1, Slight detour but a quick question regarding the early prints... They all seem to be pretty 'blocky' and almost low-resolution. Does anyone know why this is? What was process that produced that look? It's evident in the detail above and very evident in my Toxic Mary (I know it's print divides opinion but I love the rawness of it). You are absolutely correct on this one. With the CND there was a smaller line screen used in the printing process which gives a more pronounced halftone or less refined detail when screen printing. It was just their choice for this piece for whatever reason. I noticed it on mine the day I got it but for me it adds to the character and differentiation of the works. In contrast Sale Ends, S&S or others where he wanted to show fine overspray or detail use a much finer line screen.

I don't notice this at all on my TM or MQ; both actually looks very crisp with extremely heavy overspray which I love. I can tell easily on the CND and it's def from the screenprinting process, and you can tell it's by choice when compared to the fineness of detail in the peace sign. The contrast between the two screenprinting methods on the print is great.
Anyway, was fun spotting the little logo (on what looks like a 'pee' bucket?) - glad you guys enjoyed it too.

Banksy CND Soldiers Print, by coller on Sept 29, 2015 19:39:01 GMT 1, That's cool...an under-rated Banksy in my view. But I always liked the earlier work best. So do I Same, every one I own is actually from 2005 or earlier.
I am also much more into the old signature, for many reasons.

I am looking for an unsigned CND soldiers. I think I have a pretty good sense of the current prices. Must have pest control. Located in the US.
