It improves the value of the image, not dilute it in any way.
When selecting a picture for a print edition, the artist has picked something that they want to put out there, so they are going to put their best foot forward.
It is also a promotion of that particular piece making it better known.

I'm a huge fan tbh, been waiting for a print for years - I've seen that image 100 times, but until I saw this thread I never looked at it critically and the neck just jarred with me...... probably trying to talk myself out of buying it if I'm being totally honest. One thing for sure is that this place divides people when it comes to many things. I love the image (I would have been a fool to buy it if I didnβt) and itβs probably one of my favourite pieces in my collection.
I was approached by the guys at Unit around the potential print and this was selected by them and Ryan. Replicating any original will always be tricky and to capture this in a print probably harder than most - however I know itβs a popular image (to most π) and I hope falls into the right hands of fans/collectors who havenβt been able in one way, shape or form to get a piece by him.
Either way I live with it everyday and I love it so I guess that the main point (even the GF loves it so you wonβt ever see a for sale thread as partner doesnβt like anymore ππ)

I think most owners of an original that is turned into a print would be chuffed. Itβs quite an honour to own the original.
That said, whilst I donβt believe there is an obligation to do so, I think itβs good manners of the artist or someone on his behalf, to contact the owner and notify them. My son is about to release his second print. We did just that.

A Β£1000 print would be ridiculous. However we are talking about a Mayfair Gallery who marketed Ryan enough to secure a solid collector base, so who knows.

Their other artists prints range from Β£600 upwards so this might be a guide. And judging by the print, a HF will be out the question
