Daniel Arsham - Hourglass, by kendo on Jun 29, 2018 14:43:43 GMT 1, Thanks for the pics - very nice - looking forward for mine to arrive.
Regarding Fedex, you might get lucky but generally you'll receive a charge letter within the next couple of weeks. At least with Arsham editions, they typically send it with the correct commodity code applied dropping the import charges to 5% - the charge is the charge and no hassle in chasing partial refunds!

Really, they charge after people have the goods?

Daniel Arsham - Hourglass, by kendo on Jun 29, 2018 15:45:37 GMT 1, I think it depends on the courier!
With Parcelforce you have to pay before they will release the goods whereas Fedex deliver and then charge! At least with Fedex you get the goods straight up, one downside is that you have to contact them (easier over the phone) to pay the charge.
Not sure of the rhyme or reason!

Yes, and, assuming it was the same company, I tried ignoring it in the past, and it didn’t go away!

Daniel Arsham - Hourglass, by sanchorockin78 on Jul 4, 2018 11:06:19 GMT 1, Sure enough...another shattered glass Arsham has just been delivered!! I am so angry right now that only the joy of an England penalty win is glossing over my sadness...
Contacted the gallery and crappy fedex but all i really want is an Arsham piece..in one piece!!
Still - penalty win in my lifetime - woohoo!! oh and anyone selling one of these in the UK let me know..assuming Fedex sort the insurance ASAP!

Daniel Arsham - Hourglass, by sanchorockin78 on Jul 10, 2018 11:34:57 GMT 1, Hi all,
Wondering if anyone can offer any U.S based help?
I received my Hourglass from Fedex and after opening the outer box, could hear that the glass had shattered, another tell-tale was the box was covered in fine sand!
I have tried emailing info@danielarsham as suggested on their website support section but am yet to hear a peep out of them! I have also tried meghan@ but no luck there either.
Fedex stated the package was not suitable for air transportation and seem to want nothing to do with it, which is pretty crap as I am sure some folks in the UK went for one of these and it arrived intact...Bren...are you UK / outside the U.S based?
Wondering if there is a telephone number I can try for Arsham studios of if I should continue to be patient ( emailed from the 3rd July ), in the assumption Arsham will come good and sort me out?
Thanks all.

Daniel Arsham - Hourglass, by sanchorockin78 on Jul 12, 2018 9:05:53 GMT 1, Just a quick update. I found a telephone number for Arsham Studios on the Fed Ex Import Tax document which arrived a week later and gave them a call. Turns out there were quite a few claims for them to process due to damaged shipments overseas and were struggling to get around to everyone! The end result is they are on the case and were really cool. Fedex will be picking up the damaged piece - which is a shame because I was going to find a way to display the relic camera within Fed Ex have waived the import tax so hope to get a refund or they did say they would try and ship me another if there were spares, failing that they'll let me jump the queue for the next release scheduled for the Autumn.
Final note, thanks to Bren and Expresspost who responded. It's nice to see amidst some of the garbage that gets written on here that members still help each other out...one of the reasons I joined this forum 12 years ago

I've had a similar case recently.
Customs just checked the documentation (photos and email correspondence) and didn't charge again. They told me you cannot get charged for the "same" item twice, the first import doesn't count as the item was damaged.
I'm based in Germany but I assume it's the same in France.

Daniel Arsham - Hourglass, by sanchorockin78 on Jul 13, 2018 9:41:46 GMT 1, I called Fedex and they waived the charge ( had not paid it and was not about too given their service ), but if you have already paid you will hopefully not get charged again...assuming we get a replacement?
I paid via credit card and was also stung by a conversion rate ( US>GBP), your bank should refund you this too if you check with them as once explained, they had no issues with a refund.
A complete hassle but glad to hear some made it across the pond!

Yep received the replacement. Took long enough and whilst I was waiting I asked, assuming they had to make these again from scratch if I could have mine made with Blue Sand...6 months since asking and it been released!

Was thinking about it, but for $650+shipping, I'm going to pass.
EDIT: Looks to be sold out now. Unless they pulled it until the actual drop time.
