Hi,

Just a quick review of Jean Jullien's last show in Bruxelles.

Jean Jullien immerses us in his universe, from the carefreeness of childhood to the doubts of adulthood. These paintings are magnificent. The representations of the landscapes and Breton skies are superb. Another wonderful exhibition that deserves a visit to the Mima (and to Brittany ofc).

Mima's team and JJ have done a remarkable job of scenography. If you liked Banksy's show in Glasgow, you'll love this one too...

About the print release I saw one AP in the gift shop and the quality is not quite good. It's an inkjet print.

Sharing some more pictures here from the show. Overall very very nice and loved every little thing of it. Had a great chat with JJ too.

The MIMA shop got updated, for anyone interested I bought a few stunning posters, some postcards and was able to buy a book which he was happy to sign.

Worth a visit!

Right in time for summer we are releasing our first edition with Jean Jullien today. La Grière, offers a postcard vision of summer on the French coast printed with aqueous inkjet for a matte finish on 100% cotton paper.

It will be a signed and numbered time-limited edition that coincides with Jean’s first institutional European exhibition at MIMA Museum in Brussels. The show is open since June 30th and the print will be available to order for 24 hours starting from today, Wednesday July 5th at 15.00 CET.

Fans of artist who just want to have something. With timed edition they don't need to worry they miss out and the price is usually lower than with limited edition.

My opinion is that the open editions are made for fans who could grab what they love and this will discourage flippers

Yes they will be shipped like all our other print editions, flat shipped in a custom box.

I am curious to see what the edition size will be, as JJ indeed has a huge fan base in Asia like Newar said. I personally love the image and was a fan of the work as soon as I saw it. The original work showcased in MIMA was a beauty to look at. Of course, this one looks a bit more pale, but nothing can top the original!

Great print to go with if you are a fan of his work imo!

Having collected a bit of JJ originals and prints over the years, I was always surprised at how slow his prints would sell vs how fast originals can sell. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a small edition number here. Do we know when they announce that?

I have this theory that, deep down, every artist is actually a subpar landscape painter. Or at least they'd like to be. The freedom to paint what you want, things that bring you joy, something sincere, no gimmick, no concept, no punchline, even if there's a risk that they won't be commercially successful.
