Banksy • Girl With Red Balloon Print, by scott01 on Nov 18, 2017 11:39:16 GMT 1, Reading the thread, I am saddened that someone would be so eager to create a new post for the purpose of creating a reaction from other members.
Clearly the value of the trade is not balanced, as you have a print that is the last offering from POW and feelings are high at present with people like myself that were not lucky in the lottery, but it seems obvious that this trade will not be done as only speculation on the value of this print at present can be made, against a known value of one of the most sought after prints.
I’m my opinion until you know the value of the new commodity, only then can you trade for like for like, personally if I won it, it would also have sentimental value

Big thumbs up -
Prints worth more than a lot of others. - it’s already obvious of this. A few will get good “ deals “ but that’s it. A few.

Just be a bit wary those disappointed and looking to buy before the COA is issued. I can see problems ahead unless it's done very carefully.

Banksy • Girl With Red Balloon Print, by lv90210 on Feb 8, 2018 9:46:36 GMT 1, Hi everyone, Looking to sell my Banksy GWRB unsigned print. Located in the states but willing to ship anywhere at buyer’s expense. I have the original crate it came in when I originally purchased it and would put it right back in it if shipping is required. I’m trying to use the money to purchase something else so trades will not be beneficial right now. The print is in absolute mint condition. The print has never been pressed, and is currently framed by Mister Frame Man. There are NO creases, glue, or tape on the back and NO ripples! Unlike almost every auction I’ve seen recently on these, most have had damage. Pest Control: I have it in my possession. Price: Hangup had one for £44000 and I don’t see it anymore as available. So I’m asking £42000. I can provide many photos to serious inquiries but I had one posted in the “get your mister frame mans out for the lads” thread... it’s the one with a black frame. willing to meet in person if the buyer wishes to inspect for themselves. So basically only 2 for sale in the world ? these things are like gold dust. GLWS

Banksy • Girl With Red Balloon Print, by Deleted on Feb 8, 2018 9:50:25 GMT 1, If you are comparing your valuation with hang up prices you are way off..
They are one of the most expensive galleries and have huge overheads to consider.. theirs has also sat unsold for a long time.
In short they would accept £42000 and people expect a better deal privately..
I think you need to be under 40

Banksy • Girl With Red Balloon Print, by Dice on Feb 8, 2018 11:57:59 GMT 1, It’s the most difficult print to value as nobody is willing to part with them now. To find one mint is very rare, 42k is probably doable but it’s top end and you may not achieve that on here.
Personally I would bin the frame and sell flat and fresh to achieve the best possible price good luck!

Banksy • Girl With Red Balloon Print, by pr.yu on Feb 8, 2018 13:15:10 GMT 1, One recently sold on eBay for less than $38K USD. Had tape marks on back but otherwise in very good/excellent condition. Since this one is framed, no idea about condition of verso. If trying to optimize cash value, would probably have unframed and sell at auction. If trying to sell privately, would expect significantly less than current asking.
A grail piece for many on here (including me) but now need deep pockets to make it happen. Suspect OP has been inundated with PMs. GLWTS.

Of course I don't have proof. Just saying that's what's out there.
One sold for hammer price 32K GBP with Phillips recently. But that's at auction. And I think we'd all agree private sales should go cheaper than auction.

There would be a 20-25% buyers premium on that though..

The buyer actually paid £40k for a subpar condition print . So I don’t think you’ll get much off a mint one in a private sale. Let’s face it, no real discounts when it comes to buying Banksy. And this is probably his most sought after print.

Banksy • Girl With Red Balloon Print, by pr.yu on Feb 8, 2018 21:30:25 GMT 1, There would be a 20-25% buyers premium on that though.. Again, that's with buyer's premium. Phillips also takes a cut from the seller. So the buyer paid 40K GBP and the seller got less than 32K GBP (must be nice to be an auction house, eh?). I'm just saying the private sale price for such items is somewhere in the middle of all that. There are endless threads on this topic on this forum, and I'd agree with someone earlier up top that taking 5% off gallery prices or auction sales probably doesn't reflect what the private sale price should be. That all being said, I'd want as much as I could get for the print if I owned it myself and were selling it. Good luck to OP. I'd say sorry for derailing the thread, but at least the discussion keeps bumping this to the top of the board.

Banksy • Girl With Red Balloon Print, by tab1 on Feb 8, 2018 21:33:05 GMT 1, Any banksy prints are always going to be listed higher than the last listed price of gallery or auction , sellers don’t really discount fees as they see that’s what the person that won at auction paid so that’s the price sellers expect. Would say good deed to discount fees here but they don’t have to. It will eventually sell but will be drawn out One of those prints that the market dictates so best at auction This forum is good if just under market rates for banksy do not think you will get top rate here unless a gallery contacts you here ?

Fact is, if you want to buy one it will cost you upwards of 40k, no matter where you buy it from.
That is not a fact.
Should one choose to sell at auction, yes. Fact is, if you want to buy one it will cost you upwards of 40k, no matter where you buy it from. That is not a fact.
