ARTSY 🇺🇲 Urban Art Auctions, by campfire headphase on Dec 25, 2018 1:57:20 GMT 1, I’ll come clean - I work there... But just trying to understand your logic...Why on earth would a gallery buy the piece back if the result isn’t on public record? Ie. Christie’s/ Sotheby’s etc Working with Artsy over the last month - we have found 7 new clients from 2 sales... if that’s not a success I’m not sure what is... If prints are selling for circa £25-35k what’s not to say this isn’t worth £40k? I think right now the only one buying miller is Maddox. You buying the print back and you only need to pay the small comision the the Platform. If you buying it back, you think you increased you stock value for and very small fees.
Correct. Galleries certainly do this. “A rising tide lifts all boats”. Part of a gallery’s role is to protect their vested interest by not letting objects b.i. at auction. Seemed really really low for a unique painting on paper. Given as how print flippers on here are pontificating about how valuable Harland’s last TWMH,PAICBT print is right now..... he hasn’t had a show in a while and this last sale for Maddox makes me feel like people do t care much for his art right now.

ARTSY 🇺🇲 Urban Art Auctions, by firstimer on Dec 28, 2018 18:22:05 GMT 1, Myabe this will throw a spanner in the works... Maddox contacted me and made an official offer on one of my hand finished larger miller prints on behalf of one of their private clients for 40k GBP... I turned it down.
I do think they inflate prices, I have never bought from the... but whether we like it or not, they also have the buyers.
*Shrugs shoulds*

Glad we’ve made it out of the 4th tier!!! Always looking to improve and grow so feedback good or bad is always welcome. With regard to prices of ephemera all consigners are held to the highest standards of provenance we will not put our name to work we are not confident is genuine. As always each individual buyer must satisfy themselves of the provenance before bidding. We’re open and transparent at all time’s on matters of authenticity so if you have doubts over any piece we list feel free to contact us.
Consignments for March are underway please get in touch for an estimate of any work you’re looking to sell. Deadline is 4th Mar.
We appreciate the support and look forward to another year of growing and evolving into a 2nd Tier auction House!!
There were various world record for results yesterday which shows the strength of the platform and the demand for work by those artists.
