Tabby needs his own thread, by Pysgod on Mar 19, 2018 10:04:59 GMT 1, You can't just silence someone because they have a differing opinion to you. This is a forum, after all. I respect that tabby has fans, but I don't respect the art at all, which appears to be nothing more than just another banksy coat tail rider. Just as Banksy did with Blek’s coat tails what’s your point? Is Tabby’s work not innovative and thought provoking, not to mention fun? I like most of Banksy’s work as well but GTFO thinking he’s all original. 1 Nobody would even know blek did some stencils if it wasn't for Banksy putting him in the spotlight , same as Robbo who was unheard of outside a london borough until Banksy tidied up an old forgotten piece.
2. Not in the slightest.
3. irrelevant.

Just because Blek did stencils before Banksy doesn’t equate to it being better. Move forward not backwards.

Tabby needs his own thread, by hairbland on Mar 19, 2018 15:03:44 GMT 1, Can I point out that Pysgod commented on / p!ssed on the artist, and the others (Tabby fanboys) responded by attacking Pysgod in the most juvenile way, something about Banksy's balls (ironic, considering if Banksy's balls are on anyone's chin it appears to be Tabby's) in addition to the always ignorant "what art have you created?" Thought this was an “edgy forum” and how is it ignorant to ask some tool who loves to bash people and art what they can do? To me it is the ignorant who mock one’s talent of which they have none. Virtually every piece Tabby has done is a pastiche.

I'll probably go for the silver or gold. Tough to decide until seeing them but love seems to come too easy if you have gold so silver seems more appropriate.

Is Tabby’s work not innovative and thought provoking, not to mention fun? I like most of Banksy’s work as well but GTFO thinking he’s all original. He's not original, but it's his style now, whether you choose to accept that or not. And no, I don't think tabby's work is innovative. Thought provoking? Meh. Most of tabby's pieces are just visual juxtapositions devoid of any meaning. Take sound of Uzi's for instance. What thought is that supposed to provoke? Much art is defined by the interpretation of the viewer. The "Sound of Uzi's" to me provokes the thought of how much things have changed in the world. When I was a child things seemed so much simpler and more honest and hopeful. The movie "The Sound of Music" portrayed among other things the hope that I'm sure many felt during WW2 and that was the fact that they were going to escape. Some did and unfortunately too many didn't but the movie portrayed the hope. To me "The Sound of Uzi's" brings forth the realization of change and how violent our society has become on a daily basis. Seems like everybody has guns, everyday there are killings around the world. In conjunction, it reflects on the loss of innocence. How when I was young I just noticed the beautiful things in the world but as I got older I saw all the violence and hatred and guns and killings and it's a fucked up reality, but it is real. It makes me wish I could go back to simpler times but I can't. Although that may be true, upon reflection of my childhood it makes me appreciate the fact that I did get to experience a more beautiful world where things at least seemed more simple and people seemed kinder, and for that I am grateful. Now, I'm not saying that today the world as a whole is a piece of shit because it isn't. There are still a lot of beautiful things and beautiful people out there to enjoy. However, when I look at "The Sound of Uzi's" (concrete version) hanging on my wall it's a reminder to me to try to be nicer and kinder and more of a positive force in this world because most of the time that's all the control over things that you have. By doing that simple task I feel myself a combatant to the opposite polarity that exists in the world and it makes me feel better about life. Try it, it's great.

Not in the slightest. 3. irrelevant.
as Dran - not the same style - would be just another French comic illustrator drawer ( as said we have a lot here ) if Banksy did not invite him in Pow December shows. Same for Lush ? I don’t think so - even if they met together during Melbourne trip ) - as the guy gave strong character and paint. Wh should not forgot that Banksy has promoted a lot of artists ! And his choice and point of view exceptional and clever ( Evol is one of the best, Pow made a show, but this artist never have the consecration tgat he should have ... I was one of his first collector ). And now, after Bleck, what do you think of René Gagnon telling the world that Banksy is a copycat of Forgive us our trespassing :-)) And for the last one : who do you think of Kunstrasen that has the honor of collectors and critics ? ( not my cup of tee anyway )

And the last of Tabby's 3 big pieces painted in Carlisle this week. Giraffe Crane: Forbidden Love.
I was fortunate enough to help out with this one, in a proper race against the elements. Have to say, what a thoroughly nice bloke Tabby is too. Really enthusiastic about his work. Full of witty ideas and talented enough to realise them quite simply. Hats off to the fella.
