Had another interesting drop today.  Not nearly as big as Invader but Matt Gondek dropped a cool little print with hand embellished variant today.  Sold out quick.  

I was waiting and saw it about 3-4 minutes early, swooped up mine but many were caught off guard as it was slotted to drop at 12PST.   

I wonder if we will see more to throw off bots or just an error by the gallery.  Curious for those with bots, if the bot was set up would it have caught the early drop?  Is it running all the time?

I’ve used a extension not to buy but to alert when a page updates. So knowing that that is possible, I would imagine bots would be more advanced and be able to detect the update to the page and buy it?

Yeah, that would do nothing to deter bots. Unless for some reason they turn it on right at the drop time which wouldn't make any sense. I believe they're essentially a page monitor with a script that buys either the newest item listed or an item with a specific name/keyword.

Interesting, thanks for the info. Definitely threw everyone off. But appears to be an error as the edition numbers are also swapped as compared to his last release. Find it hard to believe more hand embellished than standard edition. A win for fans though.

Ya that was comical - gone in 2 minutes (in my cart and couldnt check out), up on eBay in 25... embarrassing if you ask me, but it seems these artists love to frustrate collectors and appease resellers.

It's also very common for galleries and artists to release a print a few mins early or late. Nothing new here...

The hand embellished piece came in yesterday, looks amazing. Have to take pictures but it was too late. Even the wife liked it and I thought I was going to hear, another one, but she dug it.

Really happy with it. Gondek is great and looks like he took his time with the embellishments even though he had 100 to do.

My first thought is its particularly ugly, and my second thought is it look like Homer, Lisa, Bart and Maggie from a halloween special episode of the Simpsons, perhaps the one where the invisible fog that turns people inside out is featured.

Not particularly original in my opinion.

I have no idea who the artist is so I'm sure someone will inform me, maybe its the guy who draws the Simpsons? Actually if thats the case, its very cool and I'd buy one.

I'm a Gondek fan and looking forward to seeing this. Don't need a 4ft statue at home but his work is always fun and of quality. Going further down the path similar to Kaws with the figures?

But asia produced 4ft that seems 3d printed or sometging, idk. And price point? Idk. .

He's awesome, but should've waited to release a 1 character 4ft in a few years.. this is too cluttered

With this one I agree.  I know he is busy as I tried for a commission last year.  Was able to get his last two hand-embellished releases and they are great but there is something missing with this one. 

I'd also like to see him try something out of left field, something we would not expect to showcase other aspects of his talent.
