Hi,

I have a numbered, stamped Golf Sale print from 2003, looking to sell but really want to get an idea of price first - any ideas?

The short answer is 'what ever someone in willing to pay'...

... a more useful answer would be ...

...to maximise your return, make sure you have rock-solid provenance. Ideally, get it authenticated by Pest Control and get yourself a certificate of authentication.

Prices are jumping all over the place at the moment, but this forum is a good place to offer it for sale. Failing that, pop it on ebay. Either be brave and start it at 99p and let the market find it's level or pop a farily high buy-it-now price on it, but allow offers. You can then gauge the current market price.

Best of luck. It's a classic print and I would love to own one.

I'm guessing somewhere between £1.5k - £2k or so, but suggest you get a COA from POW first mate - it'll sell easier!

It's Mint, archivally floated behind UV Low glass, signed and comes with full provenance.

I'm looking for £4k or a signed banksy trade (not framed).

I fear Banksy's bubble burst mid-2008 and prices have been slowly going down ever since. I wonder if the source prices will start to reflect that any time soon....

I would estimate about £1.2k on this one...

You mean his bubble burst or the country where most of collectors are based is in the middle of a recession ?

To be honest, I don't think his bubble will reinflate for a long time, price wise, even if it continues going up hype wise. Technically recession is over, and yet prices for his works are showing no sign of healing, and continue to fall...

I think whilst you have valid points generally i think you'll also find popular prints continue to be popular and in this case more difficult to come by.
There may be less people with the finances to buy one - but overall prices for some works are going up.

otherwise a decent golf without damage would cost imo around 1.3k. (s 3k).
under rated and ,i jest, sought after in china.

Recession is over ? whoa ! did you see that budget ?

Basically it means no one paying over the odds for the vast amount of prints that have been churned out from a good 95% of UK "urban artists". People are going to be thinking a LOT more before they make a purchase, there'll be a far more "will I still love this in 5 years" compared to the usually "Can I maybe flip this in 5 weeks".. which will entail a lot less sales and proove a really difficult arena to break through in.. hopefully leading to a rise in the quality of work for the money that's been asked these last years.

I'd still expect to see all signed Banksy works as well as classic early unsigned steadily rise from here on in..those who "crossed over" before the "adjustment", Faile, Parla, Choe, Fairey, Os Gemeos, Barry McGee etc are pretty much secure as they don't rely on sales of mediocre screenprints with vastly inflated prices in order to survive.

The recession may "technically" be over.. but that's for bankers, for the man in the street, it's just about to start.
